40% increase on last seasons beam back price!
Talk about ripping off the loyal fans, season ticket holders that could not get match tickets should have free entry as a gesture of good will!

Given the cost of a cinema ticket these days it's hardly a rip off and if you don't want to attend nobody is forcing fans to turn up.

I would guess the extra costs may have something to do with Chelsea demanding more, or possibly the higher demand to watch Chelsea rather than Cambridge?
With the extra costs this season - Steve Hamer's wage, the new stadium improvements, more behind the scenes consultants, food for the players, overnight trips and increased wages for the squad, re-signing on fees, increased management wages etc, I would guess the expenditure is going to be close to £1 to £1.5M more than the start of last season. The gate cup reciepts will help, but more revenue has to be raised to cover the costs.

Why would people pay £8 to watch us get slaughtered ? The extra charges are to pay for the shortfall in investment at the club

I think Wael and family have already invested we are still here aren't we which may not have been the case after the Sainsbury debarkel and the wonga loan etc etc dread to think what could have happened had he not stepped in!

to me there seems to be a bit of 'test the waters' strategy at rovers at the moment, and I mean that on a whole lot of levels....
all part of the evolution process I guess....

Personally I don't think £8 is over the top considering the price of either going to Chelsea or if it was on sky a subscription to sky sports.
I wonder what other clubs charge for beambacks, does anyone know?

Attended them all, last season and thought they were good value for money and a really good move by the club- on OTIB it seems they are considering them this season - obviously believe their away crowds might improve from the red few

SH's wages is he Full or Part time as if the latter I doubt he;s on more than£50k, stadium improvments surely have to offset against increased income and are over 2 to 3 years not just one season, "consultants bar the fitness guy could be employed by Wael or costs just offset against the stadium project, increased wages etc also have to be considered against increased Sky/attnedance etc money from playing in Div 1, at the moment I don;t see there's any evidence expenditure is exceeding income at lease no more than last season's. The next couple of weeks will show if Wael is prepeared to put his own money into the playing side of matters by what, if any, signings DC makes or whether he (+DC?) just wants the club to be self funding.

Probably the most depressing thing about this forum is when a Rovers fan expresses a genuine issue with prices he is immediately shot down by others. No wonder football fans are always fractured and ripped off. I'm not suggesting everyone has to agree with him, but divide and rule is what stops football fans from having any real pressure on football owners / powers.

I suspect the OP was a little tongue-in-cheek, re extra costs and whether much is really being 'invested' or added revenue is being spent on players, beyond the obvious wage increases and a couple of free transfers.

Anyone know if you can ring the shop and get beam back tickets reserved on Monday to pick up Tuesday or do you physically have to turn up beforehand to get them
