That may well be true but if a striker plays badly it's his fault not the fault of the other striker I don't necessarily think it's anyone's fault. I've got no doubt that our players do try every week. There isn't a footballer out there who hasn't had a dip in form or a footballer out there who hasn't got a preferred strike partner or midfield partner etc. In the past watching Rovers there has been times when I can honestly say a players poor performance has been down to not trying hard enough and that is his fault and unacceptable. Maybe fault is the wrong word and responsibility would have been a better word. I'm done debating this now. You are never going to convince me that Taylor's dip in form is in any way the fault of Harrison or anyone else for that matter. So I'll just leave it there.

Seriously, what the he'll is wrong with our fans? Taylor has played in 4 league one games, and scored twice. He looks confident, hardworking and like he's taking his craft seriously. What planet are you living on of you're saying he's off his game?

With 1973 on this one but it can be down to a lot of reasons other than lack of form and in many ways Ellis 's form may be down to us not playing a style that suits his play. I would use Paul Randall as an example (I am not saying Ellis is up there with Paul Randall) but where would Paul Randall have been for us without a player like David Williams in the midfield? Another serious question is what does DC ask Ellis to do? It is a fact that we don't actually create an abundance of goals with creativity especially if Bodin or Easter don't play. For all Chris Lines capabilities how many of his runs actually end up with a pass that sets up another player? To add to that how many times in a game do Sinclair or Ollie Clarke actually make a decent pass FORWARDS and when we have Leadbitter and Brown at wingbacks how many accurate crosses in? I would say that this more than anything is a reason why our strikers have off days. They are expected to run their asses off chasing around players whilst outnumbered. I actually think Ellis could score goals regularly if we had a player like David Williams who could give a pin point pass.

I would still love to see Easter play alongside Lines, in a forward midfield role.

Begrudgingly, I also think Topper might have a point at the moment. The stats back it up from when Ellis has started games since we've been back in the league. However, Ellis is making improvements to his game, so it would be unfair to write them off as a partnership just yet. He has so many good attributes, it's the tactical and positional awareness which lets him down at times, I feel. He's going to come good, but for now, maybe Gaffers and Taylor is our number one partnership. Taylor and Ellis have been playing together on and off for nearly three years now and both have scored lots of goals. Taylor has just had two poor games so it's Ellis's fault. Why does everything have to revolve around "blame" on the forum, the point I was making is none of our strikers seem to play well alongside Ellis, I'm not blaming him just raising the point. The fact we brought in Gaffers last season and were then a different team seems to support that fact. As far as Taylor, assuming the extended highlights are correct then it was Taylor's cracking shot which led to the corner we scored from. I'd like to see us sign an experienced CF to see if that works.
