Gone back to Swansea. Guess we didn't play him enough or not what DC wants? Clueless signing and a complete waste of his time.

Not in Swansea's interest to have a player out on loan not playing is it. He can equally not play back in Swansea.
Possibly the most curious signing of DCs time.

DC is clueless and childish !
He must have watched him while at Yoville so he knew what he was about
What a big waste of the poor lads time and set a bad example to Swansea for the future
Sack the board

I honestly don't understand what people get out of trolling other rovers fans and putting post after post of utter sh**e on here like Henbury calling DC clueless and childish, and obviously the legendary (in his own mind) tbone, are you really that bored? got that little going on in your own life?
I'm guessing DC fancied Roberts before he came here but dealing with him on the training pitch everyday obviously must've changed his mind about him and his abilities going on his appearances, plus it does free up more wages for any signings we will make in Jan.

Adam Drury? Connor Roberts does seem like an odd one but definitely not the strangest signing we've had under DC. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Thanks to CR for coming in. It's a shame for him that he didn't get more time but we're sat just outside the play-offs and DC obviously doesn't think he's the answer so it's right to move him on.

Think DC will now go after an out and out left back to cover for Browner and not another utility defender.

No way - he was rated at Yeovil but obviously not as good as DC hoped but as for curious - surely not as strange as the signings of Wall and Goldberg during our Conference season.

Wall, Goldberg, Fallon, Drury, McBurnie and Roberts all go to show that you need to show more on the training ground and fit into the club's culture in order to get selected.
I for one am appreciative of this approach.
All the best for the future Mr Roberts.

You sense all those ticked those two boxes but were simple not good enough to dislodge established first team players, the only one with questionable attitude could well have been Alex Henshaw, as Drury wasn't here long enough to make any impression?

Sorry to explain myself further I mean curious as in DC must of seen plenty of Roberts, and Boateng, in L2 last year and presumably had an idea of how they would improve the team / squad this season. Hence I find it curious that Roberts was given so few chances. As to the likes of Wall, Goldberg etc I just thought at the time DC was bringing in almost any player who was willing to make up the numbers, and it wouldn't have surprised me if a number of those came in unseen. The fact a number of them turned out to be duffers was completely unsurprising and probably quite predictable. Though I think Wall would've made it if some burglar hadn't stolen his shooting boots.....

I think it was a case of DC honouring his promise to the group that took us up while trying to cover the bases of getting squad depth due to the change in transfer Windows.
I would had liked to have seen Roberts play more as he was very good for Yeovil and has just signed a new contract at a premiership club.
DC has been good on his word by giving last season players a chance, but we have found out that some are now at the end of there road with us.I Also think there were a few panic loans with the likes of Connor but we all make mistakes.
We are 2 points outside the playoffs with half a season almost gone with new signings to come in next few weeks - not to childish or clueless really!

There is no emergency loan market this season, that's why he was signed to cover injuries. We will probably see a lot of players like this, now the rules of changed. If Brown or Leadbitter had got injured, he would have had a run in the side. We will need to replace him in January, even if the replacement hardly plays lol.

But Roberts seemed more than a youngster brought in just as cover as he'd had a very good season at Yeovil last term and apparently turned down returning there to join us. I doubt he would have done that if he thought he was going to get so little game time, even gosling seems to have more at Cambridge before they sent him back. To suggest he was a panic buy seems a bit extreme when he was playing in the same division as us last season so it's not like he;s an unknown U21 Academy player.

To be completely honest DC's record on signings worries me for January in that very few of his signings seem to nail down a place in preference to his "Conference boys". Commitment, effort and fitness come in front of actual quality but the further up you go the more important quality becomes.

It would seem that preseason DC was not totally convinced that Brown or Leadbitter would be able to step up the division adequately. They might do though...so just sign a loan player short term as cover then if needed sign a new player come January. It c ould be that DC has decided a fullback is now needed at the club fulltime.
If DC is to be believed ,that its about progressing the club forward all the time rather than just promotion. Then it would mean a new fullback will be signed to be a first choice player with the current fullback needing to step up their game to get matchtime.
BRFC do not sign loan players for the benefit of other clubs or to a degree the players themselves, they do it for the benefit of BRFC Swansea will have hoped Connor got picked most games but they know he has to earn that selection. They will probably view it that he needs to go on loan to a top end league two club or struggling league one club to get more game time.
Thank you Connor and best wishes for the future.
