"p**s off you silly tosspot" "make yourself look like a dick" Perhaps you should try and be a bit adult about this topic and have reasoned argument and opinion without resorting to the insults, but if that's the way you care to play perhaps we'll meet up before our next home game and explain to me face to face your unreasoned arguments instead of your pathetic little playground rants, I won't waste my breath though as your sort are only brave with your laptop, PM me and we'll meet up. [br What worries me the most is the fact that someone has actually used the term " tosspot" , I thought that insult went out with flairs ! Tosspot mind my old man still calls me that ! The comments defies his age and mentality as a 34year old in all fairness mate. I bet he doesn't respond to my invitation to have a more one to one dialogue. ;-/

I went, knew the background behind the competition but still wanted to go to support the lad, it was a strange atmosphere, it wasn't like reserve game which are very quiet, more like watching the Gas Girls at the mem in years gone by everyone was trying to support the teams but no chance of getting an atmosphere going.
Reading looked good to be honest, if nothing else we should be talking to them about availability of some of their players for long term loans this season, it's perfect for getting a young player in the shop window.
I'm sure someone will tell me I was wrong to go, but I'm a single older lady and it was a lovely evening outside, much rather be one of the few supporting the boys than be at home knitting alone watching the dross on the television.

Average attendance drop on the equivalent fixtures from last season was 20% down. We were 16% down. While it was sad to see so many attended, at least we got near the average. Well done to all those who boycotted this fixture.

Not sure I've seen quite so much division here since the Brexit and Ellis Harrison threads earlier this year. The problem with non attendance is that it becomes a statistic and statistics can be manipulated to suit. The villains here are the FA not fellow fans, as we can't boycott the FA directly then we have to target their source of income. For this competition it's Checkatrade. What I am proposing is a mass emailing of Checkatrade with a brief explanation, something along the lines of "Dear Sir, I am sending you this email as a sign of my disapproval of the way the Under 23 teams have been parachuted into a competition that now bears your name. This in contrary to the spirit and ethos of the game and I regret that until these teams are removed I will not be using your services and will be advising my friends and family to do the same." Their contact details are contact@checkatrade.com Keep it simple and respectful. The number of fans of the lower leagues must be measured in several hundred thousands. Imagine a mass emailing, say 8pm on Thursday and Checkatrade having 10,000 emails on Friday morning. It will slow them down and make them put pressure on the FA. I know, wishful thinking, but surely better than us turning on ourselves. That's not going to happen. The best way is for zero attendance. Unfortunately, too many people don't get it. If there was zero attendance across all games last night, the EFL would have been forced to rethink the competition. Alas, this is England and people will do what they wish no matter what. The problem is that society now is becoming more of a collective by the day. Anyone who tries to be an individual within this system will quickly become a focus for derision and abuse. The individuals path is never the one that will come easy but in my opinion it pays the biggest dividends. I've never ever believed in the wisdom of the crowd and was always encouraged to try and think for myself. Coming from the family I do, it's kind of been the done thing but not to stand out or try to get attention. Unfortunately the herd mentality is ruining this country and many others too. Many just fear being apart from the crowd and I actually feel sorry for them.

I'm all for individuals and freedom of choice but if the vast majority tell you you are wrong it's at least a good idea to revaluate if you are being as smart as you think you are.

Of course and it's something that you do on a case by case basis. When I make a decision on something like this then I check emotion at the start and look at the ramifications. I read Henbury say that his one little vote/attendance wouldn't make a difference and yet history is littered with examples of how things escalate when good people do nothing and believe that they won't make a difference. I won't use the obvious example here but am sure you can work it out. Unfortunately we have a great many who still think they won't make a difference yet aren't even prepared to try and see. That is what I find disappointing

Few clubs there with sub-1000 attendances and should be very proud of themselves, Fleetwood in particular smashing it out the park. Slightly disappointing we couldn't manage it but as others have said, we didn't disgrace ourselves either in fairness.

Interesting, but it depends where the crowd is. If you belong to Momentum ( a few thousand people ) then the crowd says Mr Corbyn is the most popular guy in the World, if you are from the rest of the population ( a few million people ) you would think maybe he is not. You need to watch which crowd you are standing with.

Given that the majority last night boycotted at most clubs (more than 50% of usual JPT crowd), I think we know the answer to that one re: last night

Can't see it happening to be frank. Think it will be a damp squib and no one will get that one decent day at the home of English football. The whole concept was ill thought out and the cynical amongst us will see this as yet another way to get these B sides into EFL3. You know the old saying, money talking and Bull 5hit walks. Too many were prepared to take the pieces of silver. It really is akin to signing your own death warrant

Willing to bet it would be the lowest attendance since they started holding it at Wembley in what, 1985?

Out of interest, how many do people think would go if WE ( I do know we wont ) got to the final ? Genuine question.
