It's amazing how many players Dc's got at his disposal who can fit into the starting 11, I guess this is what comes from having a decent wage budget and spending it wisely.

No,it's how our manager uses his squad,he was very complimentary about him after the game saying he has settled in very well, and is enjoying his time with us. Probably start next game, but with DC you never know. Fair enough. I think i wrongly thought him coming from a premier league = starting every week for you.

A lad from Chelsea arrived same day as Hiram, has started his first game today and played small parts in a few others. One lad from Chelsea joined the squad last week, started Tuesday but was benched today despite playing brilliantly. Swansea lad hadn't made the bench all season and then started today. It's the way Clarke operates. Every man in the squad has a part to play, you can be sat in the stands one week and in the starting line up the next. Big squad needs good management and he trusts every man as much as the next. Clarke is a special manager I truly believe that.

After how he played at Bramall Lane so did a lot of us,but it's how DC keeps the squad involved and happy, and the way we've progressed who am i to question it. Plus later in the season most players have played and are used to what they need to do when called on, and haven't got to many miles in their legs. It has certainly worked the last two years as we have finished very strongly.

We've got two Chelsea loanees and a Swansea one too who are having to really fight for a place.

Also, and I don't mean this as a dig at you, but I think this is what the "big" clubs assume will happen when they loan a player out. I think it does far more for them having to fight for a place than just starting every game and then going back to the reserves at their parent club.

Is it possible he was dropped because of a limit on the number of loan players in a squad?
Roberts, Roos and Colkett all started and Clarke-Salter and James were on the bench.

He looks a good player for sure and he's certainly got a part to play but if all our Prem loanees were automatic starters just because they're from the Premier league we'd be ripping everything up that's got us two consecutive promotions. And yes Clarke is a very good manager , you've got to be to make the way he manages work and keep everybody happy and keep progressing which to be fair he's done constantly.

Sheffield united fans were also very complimentary about him saying he was just the type of midfielder they needed and he was a thorn in their side throughout Tuesday nights game. However, whilst being on form gives you more of a chance of playing the next game it doesn't guarantee you a start if the formation needed to counteract the opposition does not suit your style. DC has a big squad so that we can play round pegs in round holes. All of last year's squad accepted that and I'm sure the new arrivals will be expected to buy into it too

We've got some good players, and many of them have huge experience compared to their young age. Ditching them would be a mistake. Our 21 year old captain already has over 150 games under his belt. we've just had 2 players hit 250 appearances for Rovers, and one of them is only just turned 26 and has only been with us for 5 seasons (i.e. pretty much ever present every season!) No disrespect to Hiram, or any of our loan players, but they have played very few, if any, REAL games of football. i think it's a great tactic to introduce the younger ones of them slowly and use them as part of a squad rotation. We've had 2 games a week nearly every week this season. It also seems sensible for CPFC to loan him to a Lge 2 team last season, and now a Lge 1 team.
