Our board have taken us from league 1 to the conference on gates most clubs would die for and on top of that have also racked up £7m of debt. They have removed the scouting system and run out of energy and ideas. If we want a club for the future and our childrens future we have to do something. yeah, hold up a large piece of paper with lambert written on it. There's got to be better ideas surely. Stay outside the ground 1st half as an act of defiance just put a large sheeted message in terrace, then pile in 2nd half and make some noise.

Sorry, I can't come up with any brilliant ideas. I guess that the painted bedsheets would draw some attention, but would you be allowed to take them into the ground?
My concern is that FGR could be a flashpoint for those who do make their protests in a more physical manner.

My concern is that FGR could be a flashpoint for those who do make their protests in a more physical manner. And we all know that is likely to happen, especially when we are losing the game to 'little Forest Green'. If things don't improve soon, it is going to get really ugly.

3 or 4 bedsheets with 'chairman higgs must go' sprayed on would be far more visually effective in my opinion. Keep it simple and to the point. Not sure we have many people can spell that many words..

Didn't go yesterday(listened on R. Bristol),I was depressed at half time and then angry at full time. At the moment feel I do not want to go to FGR even though I have a ticket, but I guess I will wait until after the Telford match. No away fans at all would send a message, not that I am really suggesting that.

Sad thing is, if you read the forums and accept that the opinions are representative of the whole support base (more likely the more vocal ends of the spectrum), then you can clearly see that nothing will ever get done because the support is too fractured. Everybody is frustrated and taking it out on the only people they can, each other. Because we don't have access to the board, the manager or the players, we bark at those closest to us, and it is so sad to see. We all want what's best for the Club, but it's how to achieve that, and with the 'club' so entrenched behind it's barricades (trotting out BSS and DC to cop the flack and be sacrificial lambs is poor behaviour but unsurprising) we as a fan base will never be able to properly get our view across and so continue to take it out on each other. Classic divide and conquer strategy. How to counter that? Well you concentrate on a strategy that you can control - say for example establish an AFC Rovers. That way suddenly you are competing for resources and they will have to negotiate, and if the continue to be stubborn, well we have something that we control to concentrate on. Protest rarely works, as we are Rovers fans and want to watch them so there isn't an alternative; it'll quickly fizzle out. Go for the big gesture, create an alternative and get the people energised again. Sure not everyone will be keen but if the ultimate aim is to get our club back then this is the only way in my opinion. Sorry for the essay! Good post mate Fans became split a long time ago which is entirely the fans fault GD dissenters set up the AF PT and LL supporters v the rest Black and gold was set up in 2011 over the way the club was being run - bottom of League 1 and how the new ground was being funded / nothing changes 3 years on The Blackthorn right and left side The despise of Rosetinters v the Higg haters Following closure of the OF supporters were not wanted on the IF and that contempt remains The 2 Protest Groups v each other and v the Supporters Club The IF v the Gaschat Forum The name calling in this thread and many more show that the fans of this club are worse than the board for splits and will Never be united to achieve any agenda of change that is creditable enough for the Board to engage in.

Lympstone you are so correct, sadly. Everyone should read your post as it brings home how far we are from being a unified fan base. People can argue about how severe/important (or otherwise) the various splits are but they exist and do not help matters.
Only success on the field will turn us into a happy band of brothers (and sisters).

I just don't understand what positive outcome you expect from any sort of protest.
Will the BoD walk away - No. If they did we would be in serious financial sh**.
Will the BoD provide more money for additional transfers - No. It's to late. This is a consolidating season.
Will the BoD sack the manager - No. They can't afford the pay-off and any replacement would find it just as difficult.
Any protest at FRG would be just to a total embarrassment. It's going to take time to get back in the league. That's not defeatist that's being realistic.

It's just that while you are happy to sit it out, many are not. Each to their own. #kick off

Can be adapted but at least someone is trying to be creative rather then all the apathetic bullshit and ground breaking bus bollocks. haha yeah because that's me ain't it. I've had enough too mate. I ain't that bothjoke tDoesn't matteronest and that's the saddest thing. Went away this weekend. No signal. No radio. Nice break. Get back to signal land and find we have lost again. My reaction? Meh. I cant even get angry anymore. f**k the lot of em. Apathy? You bet your arse. Giving less and less of a sh*t each day that goes by. You wana hold your favourite players names up mate then go for it. I ain't gonna be there at all. Thats me too. Had enough. Cant be bothered anymore. Live a long way away from bristol and helpless watching my club die. My mrs cant get why i bother, nor can my son, and now nor can i. One goal in three games, against non league opposition, ans that only against a bunch of postmen. Really cant angry its too much of a joke. Doesnt matter who is in charge, the club cant get anything right. If we have a habbit of loosing, as dc says, he must have brought it, because most if the players wernt affected by last season. No excuses, its simply not good enough and we are bollxd

Just reading parts of this not all of it, think FGR is a great ideal an obvious ideal its being broadcast so great chance of getting some real minutes from the media from this, will have to be thought out/planned properly and we dont want any idiots highjacking this and giving the fans bad publicity (this might be needed at a later date if reason and sencible protest falls on death ears)
Essoblue and any others who think its a bad ideal, shalll we keep strum as we have up until now, perhaps until we reach the next level below, or shall we mobilise and get some properly thought out protest going for change?

Its more then a protest about three games, they have led us to oblivion I think that is what we need to remember. At the moment, some people are targeting DC and/or the quality of players in the squad - based on three league games. The anger of the fans has actually been borne out of a continuum of poor management by those at the top, and should not be deflected elsewhere.
