on the football front - some good news from SUFC website : Blades v Bristol Rovers - team news Chris Basham (suspended) and Leon Clarke (foot) are two definite absentees for Tuesday's Bramall Lane clash against Bristol Rovers. Basham begins a three-match suspension following his sending off at Scunthorpe, whilst Clarke is expected to be sidelined for around four weeks, after a scan discovered a chipped bone in his foot. Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Wilder revealed that he hopes defenders Jake Wright (knee) and James Wilson (ankle) will pass late fitness tests to face Darrell Clarke's Gas. Reece Brown could make his debut depending on the fitness of the aforementioned duo, whilst Caolan Lavery is pushing for his first start as a Blade. For the visitors, boss Clarke could name an unchanged starting XI following Saturday's win over Port Vale, although Chelsea loanee Jake Clarke-Salter could be drafted into the squad having returned to training following a knee injury. They could have put a bit more effort into writing about our team. They think we will start with the same 11 and haven't even mentioned Matty!

How many times does he make a surprise change to the starting 11?

Surely there has to be a genuine reason to make a game all ticket for away fans ie fear of trouble/limited capacity in the away end etc not just to help the police with numbers? I'm pretty sure Rovers away game at St Andrews was pay on the gate and 3,000 turned up there w/o any issues. I doubt even Walsall away will be all ticket from past experience. Fact. There are no cash turnstiles at Sheffield United. All games are by ticket only for both home and away supporters. Tickets for home supporters can be purchased up to kick off time with suitable proof of identity. As I previously posted a quick phone call to them will confirm if the same applies to away supporters. On the BRFC website: Tickets for away supporters can be purchased at the ground before the game this evening- see here.

I guess they just do that to get more advance sales.
A google search for pay on the day now available at sheffield utd shows that they do that for most games.
Why can't they just tell people in advance and give them a decent choice instead of being deliberately misleading?

Less people queueing at their ticket office before again queueing to use the ticket only turnstile. Better to have most of the fans already having tickets in their hands and going straight into the ground.
