... where these comments come from:
- Mutely I admire your belief but I do not believe it will get any better. The fact that you say we have not clicked? Did you not watch any of our pre season games we got the ball down and played football and scored goals, lots of goals. You will not score goals when the ball spends most of its time in the air. We all used to rip into watford for playing hoof ball and now we play the same way. Play players in the right position and keep the ball on the floor, short passing football and then we will win games.
- It's now a good few hours since we rather lost so depressingly to a Wrexham side that had prior to this game had an awful start to the season. Possibly the red mist is lifting and we can consider the question that has to be asked "just what is wrong with ***** this season"?
- It's deja vu Wimbo. Each season we have been in this league we have been promised great things. Each pre-season I am so optimistic. Then the football starts and we very soon learn that nothing has changed for the better.
- This season is no better than the previous 4 seasons.
- It seems that in midfield we constantly give the ball away with sloppy passing and poor ball control. Also if we kept it down and used shorter passes we might not telegraph our intentions.
- Right now I am concerned about the current quality on the pitch. Doesn't really help when manager plays and then admits he picked the wrong team? At least he is honest.
What I see is a team struggling to work together and some look as if they are not sure if they are enjoying their football. That for me is a concern. Yes, we keep hearing its too early to make definitive comments about the team but its questionable right now whether the players recently acquired are as good as the players we have let go.
- It's not that we lost a game mutley but the manner in which we lost it. I admit I was not there but listening to the commentary on diverse it seemed to me that there was precious little cohesion between the players and an almost total inability to either keep the ball for any period or to pass it with any accuracy to a team-mate. That was compounded late in the game by a complete loss of discipline.
None of that suggests that a simple stroke of luck will be our saviour.
- I think the trouble is we have too many who think we are Barcelona and should always thrash everybody. It plainly hasn't gone away, and there is no reality about the difficulty of our start. Even the best teams over the last few years would have been less fluent in some of the matches we've had so far.
Moreover, I'm not sure when they will release that Conference teams are usually inconsistent, and don't play hugely attractive football all the time. We are still the big fish that every other team want to beat, partly because our fans can be so arrogant and demanding.
- The worrying part for me is the lack of creative play and invention in midfield and upfront.
