First game 10th Sept ,1955 V Forest.Won 4-1 at Eastville.Howard Radford in goal and Geoff Bradford and Georgie Petherbridge at their peak. Now 70 and travel 240 mile round journey for home games. Please let me see the new stadium before........... ------------
P.S. Still always enrol with the supporters club and sell their raffle tickets up here when they forward me a bunch but not long ago a spokesman for the Supporter's club advised us to model ourselves on Hartlepool as they were a well run club. That lack of ambition somewhat mirrored the board at the time.

They don't stop going on. In answer to the question, I have to say the Supporters Club looks and feels like a closed shop for people of a certain age and not particularly open to new ideas and young blood. I'm not saying that's the case, but that's how it's always appeared to me. Without wishing to rake up old stuff unnecessarily I also found the blind support of Nick Higgs disappointing and felt that the SC didn't necessarily represent me. Again, that might be unfair bit it's my perception. I don't know what they can do to alter that to be honest. Oh, and I'm 43.

Again, that might be unfair bit it's my perception. I don't know what they can do to alter that to be honest. Oh, and I'm 43. So, as I was saying, Dave used to live over the back, in those days we all had washing lines. In fact, we had a green washing line which made us the envy of the neighbourhood. Anyway, at 7pm the insurance man called except for the third Wednesday in the month when we all went to the pictures. You could buy an ice cream. Anyhow, my point was Dave at the back, he worked down the jam factory, which was run by Lord Runsford. Now, Lord Runsford had a black Austin he would drive to Bath, back then bath had a bus which went to long Ashton, but it got stopped in the war. In the war we had A GI troop billeted up by the green. Which brings me to Dave again, what was I saying about Dave? I used to deal with elderly and this circular, rudderless conversation I well remember. Just add not a dig at OP, just a reflection on my former octogenarian customers.

I have consulted my Deep Thought mainframe and have calculated, taking the mid-point of each age range as the average for that range, that the average age of the posters who have responded on here, excluding the 0-10 and over 90 voters (who may be telling porkies), is 45.2 years old.
