personally this is something the club should have continued with since moving back to Bristol in 96! when we were playing at twerton the club attracted a new young fan base by selling season tickets to under 18s for just £23. I truly believe the club should be looking at new ways to get numbers through the gates!! because the way it's going with football tickets prices and the way our club is heading something needs to be done!

The trouble is with doing it this season is some people have paid £100-£200 for their season ticket. Maybe something to look at next season though.

Excellent post mate. We are in danger of losing a generation of young supporters and we must encourage attendances. One problem is some have already paid for a ST for this season, and without refunding those it will obviously upset a few.
I do believe a season ticket for children equates to £11 though (with a adult ST) so steps are being taken. Plus, free tickets for youngsters again this weekend.
All good schemes/ideas. But nothing compares to winning games for getting people through the turnstiles. UTG

Good OP. I think that quid a kid on the terraces for every home game would be excellent. Fans would then know that they can afford to take their youngsters to any game, without having to trawl the net to check if offers are in place.
If, and it's a big "if", the team do get going and are getting results, youngsters love to see goals going in the back of the net, and the atmosphere that generates in the ground. Once they've experienced that a few times, they'll be hooked.

I'm up for the weekend with it being kids go free. Means our whole family can go for about £35 (2 x adults & 3 kids) which I see as good value. plus I have a good excuse to have a beer pre match!
Actually, the club should say to everyone that if their kids are members of the young pirates, they get free entry with a paying adult. that way when they "sign up" the club can gether loads of details and use in cordinated and well planed marketing.

That's quite a good idea actually. There could be some form of kids membership card for the free games, plus they could get some sort of membership pack with a few bits in like pencil case, posters etc. Say it costs £15, club makes a couple of quid still but it could get some kids hooked.

On a similar note, Walsall's season ticket idea was a good 'un. "Free" season tickets for under 16s, with the kid initially paying £46 and getting £2 back when they enter the turnstiles on a matchday. That way, if they don't turn up then the club keeps the £2. However, the best bit about it is once the kid gets £2 back, he/she is likely to spend it in the ground on a drink or whatever. Clever stuff.

Quid a kid is an absolute must. I would make it free but £1 is fine. Not only that but shirts, scarves, photos, xmas cards, the works.

Should do the kid a quid or free kids for a season ticket by the way Walsall did it a few years ago. £46 for a season ticket but a £2 at the gate refund for each child for game they go to. Chances are they would A) bring an adult or B) spend this £2 somewhere at the club. Also if they don't go to the game the club keeps the extra £2s?
Edit just seen someone above has also posted this. Alternative is that if the season card at the UWE can be used at the shop/food stalls like a debit type card Kids get £2 added every match day

We used to arrange frenfily matches against the other junior supporters clubs....
