These 3 players will be another load on the cheap just like Dave Martin. They are also panic buys. If he had the budget all along then why did we miss out on so many players in recent weeks? P.S not convinced that a striker is the priority at the moment, in fact I would say it is the least of our worries. We do need someone strong and powerful though to bully the opposition and keep the ball up there.

We very much need a striker

After all Parkes & McChrystal have been outstanding and we have the most creative central midfielder in the league!!

I hope he's looking at bringing in a central midfielder. Far too lightweight in there, this lump ball crap we seem to be settling into again won't work even with a targetman type striker IMO. Need someone in the middle that wants to get hold of the ball and can actually pick a pass.
As mentioned above, really don't think a striker is priority right now.

If his is " Bollox" then I cant help wondering what you would consider to be positive news at the moment as a clear acceptance that we arent good enough and that we need to sign 3 players is obviously not meeting your expectations.

Some like, dare I say it, John Akinde. He bullied our defence last Tuesday. Pace, strength and he's learnt where the net is.

I dont know what size budget people want but we have lost around £1m in funding and last years budget was £2.5m. Our budget this year will be around £1.5m when the final squad is finished. No excuses if the team remains not good enough on the financial front. For me its the age old problem of Rovers not investing in decent scouting and the manager having poor contacts.

im a bit worried about who is available this late in the day,,,we desperately need a target man as ryan brunt isnt fit enough to do the job[want are to do with him?],,i dont agree with the poster who said jamie whites overweight, its been hard being a goal poacher as the last 2 games we have generally been outplayed.

Conservative estimate, Mildenhall, Brown, Parkes, McCrystal and Brunt are on around £2000 a week at least thats £480000 a season, Harrison, Lockyer, Clarke, Mansell and Monkhouse are on around £1500 so thats another £360000 , say Leadbitter, Gosling, Sinclair , Taylor and White are on an average of £800 thats £192000. All in thats well over a million. Add to that Martins wages, the first year pros wages, plus Turley when he signs and the other 3 Higgs has sanctioned, plus any signing on fees and bonuses £1.5m looks very realitic. Who else in this league pays that ? Maybe Eastleigh and Forest Green but thats it.

Based on the kind of wages paid to our experienced players last season and the fact the younger ones would have been on less. Monkhouse and mansell would not have come for peanuts. Even if the entire squad once we get Turley and the 3 others were only on £1000 a week each the budget in basic wages alone would be over £1m before bonuses.
Dont claim to know tge exact figures just making the point our wage budget will be top 3 at least.

I got a feeling their lg2 wages will be reduced with relegation ,in much the same way their wages would have been increased had we got promotion.
