We've just got to keep our squad and staff together and keep progressing and I honestly believe we'll overtake them some time in the next few years. To be honest I don't really care that much the way I see it is we're a better club than them regardless of league position because we didn't turn our backs on our club like they did theirs in their darkest times. But of course it would be great to play and beat them in the league again. UTG This is how I see it also. It bugs me when our fans give into the imagination of a HUGE gap! There football club were playing in league one only two seasons ago themselfs, and the Ashton upgrade has only just be completed and that's the only area that they are really in front of us right now. I would rather us keep focused on our journey and let them do what there doing.I know the way we are run as a club right now we can,and will get to the top level - will they? The gap on the field has narrowed considerably, we are a very good league one side, they are an average championship side, less than a league between us. Off the field the gap remains huge and will remain so until we stop talking about a new stadium and actually get on and build one so we can finally compete with them.

I think the stadium is part of Bristol Sport which is co-owned by a number of teams, so you can only appropriate a percentage of their new facilities to them. Some of the kitty money will be funding rugger. Just musing on some future names they might have: Bristol Sport Tornados Bristol Sport red socks The redskins of Bristol Sport The Bristol Sporties

There is a gulf between being a good league 1 side and an average championship one. They walked this league last season with outgoings that must have quadrupled ours.(guesswork)

They still play in a library They still play in a half empty ground They still f**ked it up on their big day at home They still are an average championship team They are still being laughed at today by the whole football community They will hate us more for having a new hero in Sidwell They still manage to have a fight at every home match in their plush surroundings They are still the club that keeps giving They are still comedy gold

Perhaps Landsdown's master plan is to rival Benetton for total dominance with the United colours of sport

I think it's hilarious that the whole country will have seen that brilliant Sidwell goal. Their keepers desperate scramble to get back to his goal then his stumble and fall was, frankly, hilarious. The reaction of the Sh it heads in the half-empty stand behind the goal was hilarious.
I have also noticed that the half-dozen or so Sh it heads that mainly contribute to their Sh it fest thread on us were on their match day thread, which seems to suggest the Fools weren't even at the match; bearing in mind that most of the posts on that thread are dedicated to taking the water out of our attendance.
Comedy gold.

Hmmm... I find the use of the phrase "utterly clueless" a little suspicious... I wonder...??

haha well we do know they love camping on our forum as well as holding 'Dopey Darrell' in high esteem. Have we infiltrated their forum or are they just trying to learn from us going by this response ........
And out of the woodwork they come. We all know there is a whole group of fans that never wanted LJ in the first place, mainly because they can't separate the coach from the former player, and have hidden themselves away because things started brightly, but they can't help themselves when the results falter.
Despite it being constantly stated that this is a work in progress there are those who want to see the finished article on the pitch winning every week.
Who amongst us does know the best team and best formation? This is still a depleted squad in some positions so some shuffling and use of players that may not be up to the task is necessary.
I swear we have some fans who make gasheads look like the world's most patient fans, well done on your sense of perspective guys.

Comedy gold. Really, I'd have thought most armchair TV football fans would be watching Chelsea thrash Everton, with the rest of the country watching Strictly! It was probably a tiny TV crowd turning into to watch that match last night.

That's true, perhaps I have been suckered into believing their claims that they're the best supported most loved club in the whole of English football with their biggest, best, shiniest stadium in the whole world.

What a deluded bunch they are. They seen to think it is their right to be a prem team one day. They are 9th in championship after selling their top scorer from last season and they turn on poor Lee as quickly as that?! P.S surprised this thread has stayed in this section, bar not being called a match thread as a title I don't see the difference.

Comedy gold. Outrage on One Turd! In response to the half empty stand comment one Sh it head has posted on their mammoth Rovers thread a picture of their stands with.......... Empty seats clearly visible! This piece of journalistic brilliance is accompanied by the caption "Empty seats, are you f@cking sure"?!!! Its too easy really, but comedy gold.

We've been trying to build a new ground for God knows how long and have put up with utter dross for years. To be honest I wouldn't blame them for being impatient. That smug tosser had launched a fortune at them in search of the "promised land" and they've gone the sum total of nowhere.

Ive seen it on sky news. So as he says pretty much the whole country will have seen it somewhere. Absolute classic.

LJ will regret not going to a BIG club like Villa when they came sniffing. The Sh!theads will turn in numbers and he'll end managing yeovil.
