Based on those highlights Puddy should never play for us again. Based on his appearances in the Conference particularly at Barnet, at Dover and at Wembley he should not even still be here!

Maybe he was told to let one in? Make sure we lost?

Puddy was on a mission to get us out of that wretched trophy.
Good lad.

Very harsh and unnecessary dig at Mildenhall saying that the great save Puddy made from the pen was one more than Mildy has ever made for the club, I'm sure you weren't saying that last season.

That is why Sir Will Puddy should be nowhere near the first team!

Who's going to play instead if Roos is ever out before January, McChyrstal?? DC will break Puddy's legs so we are able to get an emergency loan.

Much as i hate to stick a knife into any rovers player, i cant ever see puddy being good enough for league one.How he let that one in last night i will never know, schoolboy error, sadly one of many which have very nearly cost us big time ie dover and wembley.

It was not a dig at Mildys general goalkeeping just pointing out that Mildy is poor at penalties although he was brought on at Wembley despite the fact that I can't recall him ever saving one.

But Grimsby didn't know that, did they? Masterful mind games from DC. Mind you, if they'd read this forum a bit more, we could be playing North Ferriby United on Saturday.

It's a wonder anyone reads this forum at all,the amount of sh**e that gets posted on here. Some players may not have the quality needed for L1 but to disrespect them and appear so ungrateful is unnecessary and shameful. Puddy helped us out of the Conference. Mildly out of L2. Macca out of both. Short bloody memories here. I'm not suggesting their past performances warrent a starting place now, or that they are good enough to challenge for a first team place but the tone of some people on this thread and other threads is unbelievable. Maybe I'm just having a bad day, eh?

I agree with you totally gashead. Except on one point - "going on for a few weeks"! Isn't that years? And we need a new CF? Like, they grow on trees? That's the sad thing, in that we all know Ellis has so much talent and can sparkle when on form. Surely though he can't be going through that many losses of form... But if he plays for the Gas I will always get behind him and cheer him on! As for getting a new CF. I shouldn't think Steve thinks it is easy either... true. another sad thing... Ellis is one of only 4 forwards who seem to be good finishers, but is woefully out of form and not getting (or making) the opportunities to finish. Bodin is, well, not on the planet this season, which is a double shame after last season, and Easter has been stop start. So it leaves a huge reliance on MT. As much as we love Gaffney running the channels, stretching play etc, he looks like he'll never have another scoring run in his life.

Maybe I'm just having a bad day, eh? If it's a bad day then it's an honest summary mate! Pretty much agree. We all know that certain players will struggle at this level, but they are here so until they leave I think it's best to support them. AND surely they are partly what is making us so successful at the moment. We've had virtually 2 games a week since the start of the season. in other years we would have been playing Darren Jefferies and Dominic Thomas in these games, and potentially ruining them before they were ready. At least we've been able to put out experienced teams, rotate players / keep them happy, and keep the best players relatively fresh. The problem is that they are rusty individually, and rusty as a team. That doesn't suddenly make them all bad players. Personally I think the GK situation has been a total mess, but I won't forget the job Puddy generally did for us in the Conf, and the good points of Mildy's game.
