Surely these rumours of Swindle being taken over by Red Bull are Scheisse?
Press conference called for 1.30pm. Big announcement apparently.

Red Bull have been looking to take over an English club. In Germany they have RB Leipzig, who are now officially the most hated club in Germany !

Seems quite fitting then really. Already a horrible club.

Really hope this isn't true. Two franchise teams in our league then

RB Leipzig have bent every rule in the book. The RB doesn't stand for Red Bull, as teams are not allowed to have titles like that. It stands for RasenBallsport (translation - Grass Ball Sports). They get round the Fan Ownership rules by having thirteen employees of Red Bull owning 51% of the Shares. German fans hate them........although I can't get anyone to explain Bayer Leverkusen, with Bayer being one of the biggest chemical companies in the world !

I had no idea that Bayer Leverkusen had links to the pharmaceutical company until I read your post but a quick glance at their Wikipedia page shows that the club was formed by Bayer employees so it's a bit like if Metropolitan Police FC made it in to the Prem I guess. Presumably a rule change regarding corporate team names came in to effect after the club was founded in 1904. Apparently there are similar controversies with VW's ownership of Wolfsburg. Anyway, with regards to RB Swindon: initially it seems hysterical that a poxy, cheating little club like Swindle would get their pointless Robin's head torn off and whatever feeble soul they have ripped out through its lifeless neck but... actually, no, that would be hilarious

Was about to lookup odds for him to be manager by Jan, but then reading that article it seems like he already is the manager in all but name

Leverkusen, Wolfsburg & Carl Zeiss Jena started as factory teams, they have been backed by a person/company for 20+ years so are exempt from the ruling. The ruling was bought in October 1998, all clubs up until that point Factory teams excluded were not for profit members clubs. The three above mentioned clubs were also "not for profit" clubs but didn't have a membership structure.

What happened to the Red Bull rumour?
Still can't understand why Sherwood, who was being linked with the vacant QPR job, has taken on an apparently non contract role with lowly Swindon.

A guy who has been sacked twice by two big clubs after being really mediocre and then really bad from start to finish. Strange appointment, no real success and what does he know about league 2 when they are down there next season?
