Gosling has ridden on the coattails of 2 promotion winning sides and contributed next to nothing in the process.
He well may be a nice guy and play a few pranks in the dressing room but he is not good enough as a player, move on.
Edot: Actually the only time I would want to see him play for us again is if Bet365 did a special for the cleanest shirt after 90mins. I would make a packet!

You may be right. And he wouldn't get in our team now but TBH think lots of people will feel thank **** he was able to link defence to attack and pass to Easter and play a part in the goal against D/R. That gets my respect and means I will not give the guy snide digs about bets and shirts etc. But hey this is a forum and everyone's entitled to a view. When he goes, which he will, I hope the fans will give the guy a good deal of respect for being a part of two or three years success. UTG!

Nothing snide about it, he wasn't good enough in the conference and he isn't good enough now.
It makes me angry to think decent talent of ours can only reach the likes of Borehamwood on loan yet Gosling still gets league sides due to his international status.
If you want to say he should be thanked due to one simple pass that indirectly led to 1 important goal in 3 seasons then fair enough, but better players than him that have contributed more have been slated a lot more than he ever will.

I think Gos may have done better than Billy Bodin this season who I have been disappointed with.

Here's some views from Cambridge fans; "The guy did nothing whenever I saw him play, not sure how that can really be down to Derry, granted us playing crap doesn't help but it doesn't stop and individual shining, which he did not!" "God I had forgotten all about him, think Ryan Gosling might have been a better option" "Personally, I'd see this as an absolute waste of valuable wages, that could've been spent on a player that won't embarrass himself every time he puts on a (still rubbish designed) United Shirt. An absolute waste of money, in a period where we can ill afford to, on and off the pitch" "The guy was just ineffective, either starting or from the bench even in a poor side he should have added more" "Gosling had so many opportunities with us that he didn't take, I don't think" Read more: cambridgeunitedfc.proboards.com/thread/8147/jake-gosling?page=6#ixzz4PiRgbWvY

I know he is a valued customer of yours Henbury but my last post shows exactly what ive been saying all along.
Honestly if I could find any positive comments for Ryan Jake i'd have put it up as well, but alas.....

I wouldn't take the opinion of Camb U fans as too accurate. At the moment they haven't got a good word to say about many things. Their forum is a poisonous place ATM. They are worried about going out of the league and are at odds with their manager. Never thought Gos was Derrys kind of player and Derry is no DC! So don't expect to hear anything good about anyone on there! UTG!

That was not an attack on you, my good friend, it sounded just like what our "friends" in Newport said about him when he was over with them. The problem with Jake is that for most of his now over spell with Rovers is that he was played out on the wing which as we all know is not his best position. If he had time at his preferred position (Lines Role) then i'm sure we would have got a lot more out of him

For that, like DC, I'll always be grateful for JG contribution.
