Just interested in everyone's opinion on charlie?
In my opinion I'm not sure we are at a stage where We can carry him defensively? He does some nice touches and flicks and is on twitter retweeting Everyone's comments on his rabona cross but me personally He's not putting his work rate in where it matters... Most of his passes he's trying to pull off don't and loves trying to chip it to gaffney or taylor who are tightly marked??? be good to hear what everyone else thinks?

I agree. I think he is always looking for a Hollywood ball (sometimes this works amazingly) but I think sometimes a simple pass will do.
He's only young though so you have to take the rough with the smooth in that respect.
He's got great feet and close control too. I really think he is class.

I have felt a bit uncomfortable with fans bumming him before he'd hardly kicked a ball for us and the cringy "super Charlie Colkett chant".
That being said he does have obvious quality, just needs to impose himself more on a game and become more consistent. Flashes of brilliance are all well and good but need to do the basics too. I'm sure he will keep on improving.

If we can be more solid in the middle, leaving Colkett with a free role in behind the strikers, I think we would see him really flourish. He's not a ball winning, defensive minded midfielder, and we didn't sign him for those attributes. His through ball to Gaffney early on Saturday was sublime.

Not sure anybody else could have hit the defence splitting pass which either MT or Gaffers squandered which would have put us 1-0 up? Although Easter must feel hard done by given he excels in the top of the diamond role, if we are going to stick to the diamond then we need both Easter & Colkett to play at the top of the D as nobody else can in the squad?

Has got talent but not imposing himself enough in games (& I guess training given the few starts he gets) too impress Chelsea. Feel he'll be a player that appears in a team in a few years time against us and has everyone asking is that the player we used to have.
Still time for him to improve his contribution though.

CC is a class act. Still young, still learning, a little lightweight - but class.
I disagree with the hollywood ball comment above. His natural instinct is to keep it simple, but on Saturday there were many times when nobody was giving him that option. He did try and hold onto it for a simple option to become available but ended up with no choice but to try and execute a dazzling pass.
I also think a lot of the other players are just simply not on his level. Sometimes it may look like he's squandered the ball, when in fact he's played the right pass into the right area but none of his team mates have anticipated it.

I'm all for CC. This is the kind of player that separates league one from the Championship. If he was ours, you could build a team around him and it would be a class team.

Not in a midfield 2 but in a diamond nothing wrong with him in the side.
Should have plenty of cover with 2 of sinclair, boateng and Clarke plus the back 4.
The bloke creates goals and is on a different wavelength to everyone else in the side bar maybe MT who regularly links up with CC.

The ball he played into Gaffney for his missed chance on Saturday suggests to me he's the 'quality' so many say you need at this level.
Defensively we should cope to be honest, especially if we play 4 CMs

Championship - Div 1 player - doesn't have the right build for Prem me thinks. WHat build do you need in the Premier league ? Ive seen players of all shapes and sizes do well in the Prem from Peter Crouch to Gianfranco Zola.

Who the next player to slag off, there's not enough days in the week to get through the whole team Just going to sharpen the pitchfork up. It must just be boredom I suppose - imagine the mindset: "I love Rovers I do but I'll tell you who I hate ... the players! Those "glory hunting", not good enough, only looking out for their own pay cheques, off at the first sniff of more money, conference standard, headless chicken, prima donnas".
