You've turned into a proper conspiracy theorist of late. What happened, did Wael take his Commodore 64 to a competitor? It was a Vic 20..... and i welcome competitors into my Box ** shudder **

Agree, but thinking about it. Is he trying to use this as motivation for the rest of the team to up their game or they could see themselves released in the summer too. Given they are all out of contract you;d hope they had already realised that anyway? This suggests money is tight as we feared and the only way to free up wages for new player is move some on, although you wonder how effective that's going to be when McM & LL have sat in the stands most of this season and JE on the bench virtually all his Rovers career. This really should have been said in the summer when DC was forced to hand them contracts, when they were clearly never really in his plans, surprised LM escaped the cull!! Does it ? There's nothing to suggest they will leave immediately, potentially all 6 could still be here until the end of the season and if they aren't being considered for selection it's safe to assume we'll have to bring in a keeper & centre back at the very least. Doesn't sound like cost cutting to me

Odd things going on, odd timing for this to come out Players told they are allowed to move during the transfer window shocker 19 days into the transfer window? This may leave us a bit short as well.. seems I'm not the only one who finds this a bit odd looking at the rest of the comments

Normally something that happens at the end of the season so a little strange. MM being the strange one, making his comeback recently and helping to keep a clean sheet. With two CB's currently out injured we are very short so surely someone must be coming in?
Also remember when Trollope broke up the 07 promotion squad, this was the start of our downfall. Although most of this lot now were only bit part players last season. DC has also done enough for us to trust him on this one. Many of his dicisions that we have disagreed with in the past have turned out to benifit us.

These are the sort of moves that should be made after making some KEY signings and not before. Really worried about the present situation as it seems so strange to get rid of McCrystal when Lockyer has been the weak link in the two games and for mostr of the season and all we have to replace Puddy is an inexperienced youngster. Is this DC preparing to boost the squad with some EXPERIENCED good players or is he starting to lose the plot. I am far from convinced with his latest handling of things and it seems to be more outgoings than anything as we have seen Roberts, Boateng, Roos, Colkett, Easter, McCrystal, Gosling, Lawrence all go out or being told they wont play anymore with a further four players injured at the moment (Mildenhall, Leadbitter, Hartley and Clarker-Salter) That's twelve players out and only a non league recruit and a young inexperienced goalkeeper in. No news on either the Training ground or the UWE..can things be suddenly taking a turn for the worse? Is the plane now circling the airport very short of petrol? We need some reassurances from the top in this situation.

Expecting more incomings. Surely one in goal? We can't be hedging our bets on Lumley in the same way we were with Puddy?

Thanks to one and all. I think this gives most of them the opportunity to go out on loan for the rest of the season, especially those on better money, can't see MM or Easter struggling to find a club or wanting to sit out the rest of the season at their time of life.
As long as we get a solid no 1 in (or if Mildenhall's return is imminent) then I'm happy.
The squad has to change at some point, bit by bit is probably the best way to maintain the culture and keep players on their toes - I'm backing DC's decision and looking forward to see if he has any other January business lined up.

I hope so anyway

I think we will be pleasantly surprised soon. You do not let players like jermaine Easter and MMC go unless you have something much better coming in - and I mean significantly better. Experienced pros and good enough at this level, both of them. I will miss them both and will never forget MMC quiet moment of reflection as Mansells pen went in. Agree with this.

If I was a player not getting regular game time, this is the exact time id want to be released by my current club. The summer is chaos with agents touting out of contract players. Lots of teams in the pooh would take a punt on any of these on a free transfer. Of course stating they will not be considered for the first team again must surely indicate that we have players coming in. if not they we will be woefully short all over the pitch.

Yeah that's all well and good if that's even the case.. but now we're relying on 2 kids in goal, and with these 4 first team players being told they won't feature and the 5 loans being sent back that's 9 players out and 2 in.. it's risky at this stage, I just don't get it Edit: and that's not including Gosling, forgot about him
