I feel sorry for DC. Lets hope BRFC can hang on to him in the summer. IMO Hamer has let DC down. Luke James is going to replace the snake, I wish Luke well, but from what I have seen so far, like Gafney, I cannot see either of them scoring. Sure we will stay up. Need to go again next season. UTG Lets have it then, precisely why has 'hamer' let dc down? Looking forward to this response.

Several on OTIB saying he came across well in the interview, which roughly translates as he was suberb.

I enjoyed the interview it was great theatre and ive read endless posts saying how great it was. But i felt a bit deflated afterwards because all the evidence suggests luke james will continue to struggle and be unable to score goals, just look at his goal record and his hard working but almost goalless performances for us and peterbro. Also the bit about the budget is a euphemism for "not much money will be spent on the squad" not pre-season or any time soon. Also whatever the secret reason taylor only attracted championship interest from city is not at all relevant as he will be judged by how many goals he scores for them. Im not feeling negative because we do have some very good players at the club but i still feel a bit flat about the situation.

Really liked the interview, he played it well. I liked the fact that he has said he has always had a 20 goal striker due to the way he sets up.
I'm all for giving Luke James a go and maybe, just maybe we learned from the Gaffney issue last season and we have an agreed purchase price.
I'd like to think that in 6 months time, we will see this on the pitch. We will have another 20 goal striker and maybe one whose goal to chance ratio is a little better than that other guy.

I want a framed photo of that look. I think the club should give a copy to anyone who comes into the shop bearing a Rovers calendar, produced as a sticker that's the exact same size as the image of the steaming turd that's somehow been erroneously printed to mark December! Curse of the calendar alright. We got 31 days of it being correct. Isn't that a record?

[ In fairness to the gaffney situation. We signed him a emergency loan. Very rare that a prize is agreed prior. Taylor's conversation rate got better towards the end however he did miss sitters regularly. Difficulty is- Sh1!heads think they deserve 11 Harry Kane's and won't stick by him. Despite being in a lower league weve consistently had better strikers than them. The Mem is a better place for strikers.

All this "we have no money to spend" rubbish!
We do! We are a league one club and employ league one players. The lads we got in this window will undoubtedly be on more than the players we got last transfer window.
Wages in this league are at the point at which we truly "reach our level". The only way we can buy big would be to over reach. We have NEVER had the budget for championship off the back of what the club generates on income. So, when we say "no money being spent" what the reality is, is that we are not over spending.
In league 2, yes, we should have a big budget. In this league, we will have a mid table budget unless we sell players, increase ticket cost to £100 or get a new ground.
Remember how much Holloway spent trying to achieve championship. We never, ever want to be left skint for 20 years again.

It was a good interview but although luke james is a hard working player i just cant see him scoring many goals. One possibility about championship teams not being keen on taylor is lots of them play with only one out and out striker and matty dosnt appear to be suited to that. Agree with you about both points. I don't agree. I think James has the potential to be a top class striker, given a run of games, something we've never been able to give him with Judas knocking them in on a relatively regular basis.

If we're going to just sit and wait for the UWE to start generating sufficient income streams we could be 3 or more years away even if building starts this year, at some point we will need to increase the wage budget if we want to be serious promotion contenders. Whilst you say our budget was mid table DC's suggesting it's bottom 8 and that included the snake's wages!

How are Burton managing to do it, as I doubt that their setup is significantly better than ours? I also believe we have more potential, as does WAQ, to attract additional outside investment. That is more likely to happen playing at a higher level regardless of the state of our current facilities.

My guess is that spending will increase once the building commences, rather than waiting until it's complete.

I'd say we would have to do that just to survive in L1 let alone getting to the Championship and staying there.

And I was thinking we were within a couple of points of the play offs. Listening to you two you would think we were points adrift at the bottom of the table!!!!

Wonder if the "reason" only city came in for him has anything to do with the investigation. The reason is simple.... thesnake@thegate has a injury which we know about and the blind doctor who did the test was in the back pocket of Wael...... How can you write him off when he hasn't been given a real chance yet?! Have faith.

I've pretty much written off this season, we were losing games with Taylor so will have less attacking threat without him and we do leak goals. I think its just a case of getting the necessary number of points and preparing for next season.
