Being the nosey sod interested supporter I am, I keep an eye on Waels twitter feed, and came across this: Christopher Long @longchris88 Feb 10
@waelalqadi BRFC Aussie are trying to arrange a meet up with gas heads in Aus. Please help us to live stream a game to a venue in Aus. 1 reply . 0 retweets 0 likes Wael @waelalqadi Feb 10
@longchris88 hi we hope you will have all games live for 2017/18 2 replies . 0 retweets 1 like Christopher Long @longchris88 Feb 10
@waelalqadi thank you for the quick response. Is this new news or have I been missing out on watching the gas overseas for years? 1 reply . 0 retweets 0 likes Wael @waelalqadi Feb 10
@longchris88 we are working on making this happen with the efl , so yes new news ! 2 replies . 0 retweets 3 likes
Hopefully this may mean that others living abroad, old and new fans alike, may be able to watch their beloved Rovers. So even if I have to placate her indoors by taking a holiday in the footy season, I can still watch on, happy days.

Surely there is nothing wrong with streaming games overseas. It's not like you're affecting the attendance figures, and if fans have to pay a subscription to watch, then it can only be more income for the club. I already pay for GasWorld, so I'd be happy to pay even more to watch the games.

If this ever happens it would be great. Like Nobby says, it ain't gonna impact attendances in the UK and it's income for the club.

Although this is great potential news (especially as I live abroad), surely this could decrease gates numbers?
Unless they're going to charge some hefty fee (which I'd happily pay tbf)

I think some major safeguards would need to be put in place to protect attendances. Just because it's streamed abroad doesn't mean it can't be accessed through Openboxes, Kodi streamers etc in the UK.It would probably need to be heavily encrypted with a pay per view system.
What I would like to see as a start is our Reserve and Youth Games broadcast live. I really enjoyed the Forest Green and Slimbridge matches. I am sure if we advertised these properly and did a proper broadcast with half time analysis we could attract some Sponsorship and provide access to a wider audience. It would raise funds and engage a wider support. Would also pave the way for BRFC TV.
Is this really the Gas we are talking about?

Things like Kodi boxes etc. already alluded to in this thread. Nice for those abroad if it happens but don't think it's a great idea precisely because of attendances. Has to be the priority for BRFC/Football League fans. Mind you I suppose the Premier League has done the damage, so maybe wouldn't have that much of an influence.

Could do what Sky have tried doing and add a unique subscription number to the stream, if it pops up on Kodi etc then that person's subscription gets rescinded.
However...I know people have now started blurring the top right of streams from Sky to counter this.

If you pause it and press play again because it's delayed the number doesn't appear. As for geoblocking the stream there's ways around that too. A VPN being one of them.

The EFL are resolving their failure to cash in on the 'Player' thing by streaming games, so yes this is happening.
