No mexicans as of now. Because of our proximity to Canada, we do have a lot of border patrol here. Though i don't fancy getting political these days, and we accept anyone to our team who's decent with a ball on their foot and drink in their hand. As someone did mention American fondness with "hand cannons", when I first made the altered badge and showed my mom, the first thing she said was ou the gun is a bit too political don't you think? We aren't really the gun toting, average Americans. And WE DONT HAVE SOUTHERN DRAWLS.

If BRFC are looking for a spare keeper, they know where to look now! Just three weeks late. Do you follow an MLS, or NASL or USL or something team?

For me I cheer for Toronto FC, you can see Toronto from our side of the lake and I love the city. Honestly though, many of us cheer for English teams. The PL and English football have grown in popularity exponentially in the past 5-10 years.

Welcome Ben, Change your avatar to the Marksmen one you created You could always keep your green and white hoops as an away kit and just adopt the blue and white quarters for your home kit, everyone's happy then!

Welcome Ben,
Your surname isn't Headley by any chance is it. I met a young lad called Ben Headley when I was in the states a few years ago who was also fixated by the Gas shirts and Badge. I suspect that that might be a coincidence too far though

Nice to know I'm not the only one who is intrigued by BRFC!

Hi Ben Firstly welcome, secondly be warned that once a Gashead always a Gashead, it gets into the blood. I have visited America some 20 times, for work and pleasure. I visited Niagra whilst I was staying in Buffalo. The falls are a magical place and are one attraction that never fails to amaze. The English side of your ancestry, do you know where they were from. Tracing geneology is quite straight forward to do in the UK until you research before the mid 1800's then it takes a bit more digging.

Thank you for the warm welcome, I will gladly hold the title of Gashead. Its great you have been to this area before, it is an extremely underrated place in the US. Voted 3rd best food in the world by National Geographic, our sports teams are crap but we eat and drink through the pain. I don't know all the details of my ancestry. My mothers side is german and my great Grandfather came over here from Hamburg. My dads side is the extremely confusing one, and its also the english one. From my grandma's historical knowledge, I believe I had family members come over here in the later 1800's. If I knew the location, I would tell you. I always liked to think I simply came from Hastings, but I know that isn't true (I am currently studying history/pre-law here at college, so i understand the significance of the Battle at Hastings and just how cool/odd english history can be).

Welcome Ben,
You should get a warm welcome here although I hope you have a big house as you will get a few requests for a cheap holiday. Most of us are fairly sane but if someone called Baggins asks say you are busy!
Best of luck with your season and enjoy following Rovers when you can.

I will do my best to start watching some matches. It is tough to find league one games to stream here but I am sure I can find a way (a nice promotion to the championship would be convenient for all of us)!

Good to see you on board Ben. I hope my email last night didn't frighten you too much, or you had a spare pair of underwear handy.

This all could have gone really bad or really well, and I am glad you Gasheads are so accepting, even to a Yank across the pond!

C.G how did you become aware of this and how were they aware of BRFC badge? (Google images I suspect) Twitter. When looking for Bristol Rovers news someone tweeted this a few days ago.

They call it 'banter', I call it rudeness frankly

In the meantime you should be able to see the goals highlights on YouTube. Good luck with your college course, I'm a bit of a history nutter so hope you do well.
