The Gas web-sphere is split over a number of sources. Two forums, the official site, the Supporters Club site, Gasopedia, the BP, the podcast site (is that still going?), and then there's the national/global level stuff that contains some Rovers stuff, like the stat sites, that football kits site, BBC, Sky, wiki, youtube channels, etc. and probably some more. All of them have excellent stuff (even the BP) and most of them have loads of crap, too.
It's all there to be waded through and used. And most of them contain expert knowledge of their particular narrow purview. Istm if you can find a niche you're interested in, you will still need to make it excellent, for it to be useful.
Eg the History idea above is a great one, but there's no point just copying and pasting from various sources, you would need to put together proper, excellently researched, definitive versions for it to be very useful (there are excellent paper versions around). And similarly, just putting up articles of the moment might work, but they would need to be as good as say, Mehewmagic's articles, which get put up on the BP, and forums, etc, for it to be worthwhile.
I suppose, what I mean is, unless it's going to be its own excellent, complete resource there are any number of places to stick it, atm. And if it is a complete resource then that is probably going to be a massive job to fill any significant niche.

We don't need yet another forum. Just need to tart up this one a little. I like the idea of a 'Museum Section' for old photos etc. I would also like a section that sort of mirror's the David Icke Forum. We could call it the 'Hugo's Paranormal Forum (and other drug-induced weird sh1t)'. We can add any section people want to this forum. If someone wants to create, edit and curate a history section on Gaschat we can give them the powers to produce and control that area of the forum either with us or independently of the current mods. I think it would be a really interesting addition to Gaschat. We already have people like Russ doing the prediction league, Tilly who does the attendance stuff and Kudos running the player stat stuff which in my opinion are all excellent additions to this site and are criminally under used. I'm sure if anyone wants to do anything else the Mod team would happily endorse it too. Drop us a pm if it's something you are interested in.

I'd like to see some sort of online museum. Pictures of old and interesting memorabilia from down the years with some write ups to go with it. Try watching a game in the West Enclosure, plenty of museum pieces among us old gasheads! You will find everything you wish for there.

I like the sound of a site where old clips can be found.
Just to keep the youngsters happy, can we have a section called "Will Dubey's Fifa 17 All Star Signings" where we can compare Gaffer's + Ronaldo whilst debating why Messi hasn't signed!!!

Some nice ideas here, but i would be unable to make a constant stream of content myself, i could make the tools for someone to do that though.

As others have said a chronological listing of all available gas goals would be great. My young son loves looking back at goals from gas games from yesteryear I tell him about but it's not that easy to locate them on YouTube

I'm a gashead, web developer and looking for a personal project to work on and thought why not do something rovers related? This could be a centralised place to read articles and watch videos put out by the club (official club website is terrible imo) or this could be a place for everyone to chat. Would like to know what people would want, let me know! I'm an analyst rather than a developer, but just thinking of things that would differentiate from the official site.
You could include feeds from other sites - evening post, Bristol 24/7 etc. Also give prominence to the other teams in the club - league table for the reserves, youth etc with next and last fixtures. And you could do all this with tiles and rollovers, rather than the official site's old fashioned 'whole page must fit on screen' look.
You could even try to show the most flamed posts in the 2 forums. Another idea would be to embed the Rovers social media feeds, like in this (template!) site that I administer: www.bristolwestlfc.co.uk
What I'm thinking of would be a kind of Rovers dashboard affair. It would need some clever organising not to look cluttered however, like I think my one does!
Good luck!

The difficulty lies in finding it easily without having to search for it yourself, really you want a site that collects all that and presents it to you in an easy way. Computers are good at that kind of thing.

The main issue with exsiting sites is that everything is very outdated and clunky. Would be nice to have more modern and more accessible on your phone and stuff like that.

I also think the dashboard idea is a good one. What would it need to include? Some thoughts.
Gaschat Facebook Appreciation site Other forums BBC site Bristol Post Rovers Page PATHE links to old games Official Youtube Channel Fan Youtube Sites Youtube links to old games. I like the Aston Villa one. Other clubs forums links FFS information Supporters Club Website Official Site John Thompsons Channel Live Streams Podcasts Gas Prints Club Shop Ebay Gas items Gasopedia Wikipedia Radio Bristol incl Having a Gas Fanzine Other fan Merchandise Historical Kits Soccerbase Youtube Gas Songs (all versions of Irene, Tote End Boys, Joe Anyinsah Song, Pirahnas Tom Stark etc.) Official Twitter Players Twitter and facebook accounts
Be great to have all this on one page. Lots of Gas stuff out there but as others have said it's all over the place. Maybe a new content alert on the links?
Anything I have missed which is Gas related?
