As a Football Business and Marketing Student at University, it is part of my course to create a blog surrounding the fan experience of the game. My mission is to blog about pies at every Football Club in the UK, and would be grateful for feedback on the pies on offer at Bristol Rovers to use in future posts. The pies at Rovers are actually very good. The meat ones are the best, but the chicken tikka ones are decent too

Overpriced rubbish. Pies have no structure to them so boiling hot filling pours out everywhere and the pasties repeat on me all day. And don't even get me started on that Clarkes pies crap.

When we first moved back to Bristol they were excellent.
Now they are bloody awful and have been for a few years.
They are soggy and fall apart.
They are now beef instead of chicken too and the beef ones are even worse.
The food at the concession stands at the Mem is disgusting.

You can get a top pie from the Smart fish bar near Parkway. I'll go out of my way to get one there. Also, if you happen to be on the m5 north, the farm foods service station near Gloucester do the best Cumberland sausage roll you'll ever buy, if you have the time and inclination to circum-navigate all the millennial arseholes. Just a couple of tips there for the fellowship. As for the pies at the Mem, they are pretty bad. I ate the foil once as a preference and left the pie at the counter to be resold as bovril.
Edit: it has been brought to my attention that the farm foods service station is not exclusive to the northbound carriageway of the M5 and does also exist on the Southbound carriageway too, albeit upside-down.

And why the hell is there only one flavour of crisps and one type of chocolate bar?

Why eat pies when there are pasties? Because they repeat because they repeat because they repeat on you for hours, disgusting.

Why eat pies when there are pasties? Because they repeat because they repeat because they repeat on you for hours, disgusting. Just because they happen to repeat on you, doesn't mean they are disgusting. Cucumber repeats on me but it wouldn't dimiss it as disgusting. At least with a pasty you can see what you are eating, unlike the brown sludge in pies which could well be badger for all I know.

I actually look forward to my curry pie on a Saturday afternoon, but have to agree that they do lack structural integrity. A bit like acquiring the ability to dunk any type of biscuit without it breaking off, eating a pie at the Mem without subsequently wearing any of it is a skill. Master it and the reward are yours. Don't get me started on the cheese and onion crisp situation though. There are other boxes in the cash and carry you know! No more meal deals for me I'm afraid.

the last time I bought one I asked for a "chicken curry pie" and to my surprise the chicken tasted and looked so much like beef that I was pretty convinced that it was actually beef....
although this was shortly before the horse meat scandal so I might be wrong....

Does anyone else think that the pasties have gone completely downhill since the club took over running the food outlets. It is my one criticism of the "matchday experience" - the food cabins are awful and so is the food.
This is a comment from someone who looked forward to the matchday pasty almost as much as the game itself.
