I was in the south stand for the Saints game. The only thing I remember of the game was the pitch invasion, when the Southampton fans got chased back to the Muller Road end by the Tote end.
Happy days.

Happy birthday mate - your goals were some of the finest moments I have witnessed as a Gashead. Cardiff late on at Eastville - stunning!!

Looking good Mr. Randall. I was 11 years old when you signed for Stoke and still remember crying myself to sleep that night. UTG!

GAS legend I remember that chipped goal against Southampton sparked a pitch invasion by the disgruntled Saints fans if I remember correctly😄😄

GAS legend I remember that chipped goal against Southampton sparked a pitch invasion by the disgruntled Saints fans if I remember correctly😄😄 They soon ran away though I remember 1 of the tote end Boys chasing them and wielding a corner flag at them hilarious! And in those days they were proper thick wooden poles you wouldn't want 1 of them round your noggin.

StaffordshireGas shows his birthday in his profile as October 21st, so I'm guessing this is a repost from twitter or something. Either way, thanks for posting & happy birthday Punky #Legend

I was a kid sat in the South Stand back in '78 with my Dad, I remember the whole ground singing in unison 2 nil, 2 nil, 2nil, 2nil,2nil, 2nil, 2nil. Place was fkin rocking, thanks to the superb finishing of Paul, Paul, Paul Randall. True Gashead, have a great day Paul. Spent many hours as Paul Randall drilling them past my old man in the back garden, every night until it was pitch black. Done the neighbours green house in a few times mind.

Best player I have seen for Rovers in a one v one against the keeper, in fact cant think of any player who was/is better. Paul was a natural goalscorer, his son was a cultured footballer at a young age, dont know where he plays now.
