Frankly, the management of the playing side of the club this season has been shambolic. From the goalkeeping fiascos, the loan signings - the timing of telling players they were no longer required, the transfer dealings (Moore, Partington (is he not too similar to James Clarke - another conference player)' Jonny Burn - hardley getting a look in). The signing of four defence players in the window which has totally unbalanced the squad and of course no replacement lined up for the inevitable departure of the unmentionable. To even contemplate a top six finish is delusional this season. The positive is, despite everything we have consolidated a position in League 1. Next season will really test the management capability of DC - further consolidation and a top six finish would do me - the expectation may be higher for some of course!! Wow. The transfer dealings might have been smooth and yet we could be bottom 4. Results business.

I'd agree with all this with the exception of Montano - and w're probably stuck with Morre. Doesn't leave much if all the ?'s are released. A big challenge lies ahead next season.

Of course - as long as he's learnt from his mistakes. He won't be a rookie manager at this level next season. Anything else?

Apparently it is Daisy Gatson Bates Day in the USA.
But it's not April Fools Day or Pent Up Anger Day.
#surprised
Tomorrow is Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Jayanti in India. try saying that with a mouthful of dhal.

I said after the Bradford game that I hope Bodin is back as I struggle to see where we can rely on the goals to come from otherwise. Sure enough he pops up with one Saturday. Don't get me wrong we have players that can score but there is nobody we can rely on especially up front. I expect us to score more from midfield/defence than our strikers right now which says it all. Ellis frustrates the hell out of me, how can he play a blinder against Northampton and score 4 then barely look a threat in the games since then. Having said that, you just knew that was going to happen. Gaffney, I've liked and I felt he played well earlier in the season when others were playing badly. Him and Taylor were ok as he would hold the ball up and bring others into play but now without Taylor there is more pressure on him adding a goal or two and whilst I expect there is more to his game, his scoring record in this league is quite frankly awful. James, he needs more chance to prove himself but from what I have seen, he is a hard worker and not much more. Too lightweight as well. Easter - I see some fans want him back in but he himself has never been a prolific goalscorer and the bloke is 35 now. We need to push on without him IMO, I see us planning for next season now so no point bringing him back into the fold. Lucas - Whilst he has done well out on loan, if he was that good then surely DC would be giving him more of a chance. I get the impression DC wants him to work for his place rather than starting him because the rest aren't good enough. Are there any promising young strikers we have that we can give some minutes to between now and the end of the season? It is a good opportunity to give them a chance now if there is. I would hope DC is looking at any out of contract strikers that we can offer short term deals too with the dangling of a carrot of a long term contract if they impress. I suggested to the club last season and again before xmas that we should be looking at Billy Kee of Accrington Stanley 26 years old,not a big man, only 5ft 9 inches but a proven goal scorer,12 goals in 30 games this season for a club near the trap door to non league His career record of 1 in 3 is pretty good considering who he is playing for

And City. world beaters all of them. Top 6 finish last season was delusional. Top 6 finish in 2007 was delusional given the Lge position in March Leicester City becoming ...

Which suggests there is some reason he wanted to stay at a tiny Northern club who were losing their best 2 players and had little chance of sustaining Lge 1 standing even if they got there. It was one of the most surprising re-signings I've ever seen. He could have had the pick of clubs in the summer and a nice signing on fee, so clearly SOMETHING kept him there. It's like Ricky Miller - I'm not saying he wouldn't be a potentially good signing but for anyone to suggest he's an undiscovered gem is ludicrous. he's at the top of a list of scorers. Anyone can see that.

What a team of wasters... 1 Scott BEVAN 3 Jim PATERSON 8 Matt GILL 9 Matt HARROLD 10 Eliot RICHARDS 15 Oliver NORBURN 14 Derek RIORDAN 16 Joe ANYINSAH 18 Mitch HARDING 19 Adam VIRGO 20 Conor GOUGH 21 Wayne BROWN 25 Seanan CLUCAS 26 Chris ZEBROSKI 31 Shaquille HUNTER Please tell me they're squad numbers. I'd take Matt Harold ,Elliot Richards and Mitch Harding out, although they were not very good at least they tried unlike Danny Coles, Stuart Campbell and half the team under Dave Penney. I'd also replace Beaven with that rubbish keeper we had from Chelsea, was that bad I've forgot his name. Elliot did more than Gow!!!! I remember a terrible left back we signed at Twerton from Coventry under Ward Mk1, he was terrible, worst player I've seen...,,,.other than Andy Gurney !!!

12 goals in Div 2 is hardly a great feat, but who's to say DC hasn't made him an offer but he'd sooner stay in the north west?

I'm sure it was Andy gurney? Story i heard years ago, rovers had a pre season game on the isle of white or one of the islands off Britain so worried he asks the manager for time off training so he can apply for a passport! Priceless

Big rebuild job in the summer. We all know the current squad have done fantastic to get BRFC to mid table in Div 1; we like them all, but they are not going to get the club into the championship. DC & WAQ have got to work out what the 5 year strategy is going to be; and if its simply buy and build assets and grow the academy, then fine, we will stay in and around div 1 for the foreseeable, if WAQ injects some of his families cash, along with the clubs revenue to fiance the purchase of some short term quality then we will kick-on. I have got a feeling it will be option 1; which is okay with me. UTG
