So 11 games to go this season and we're sitting pretty in 11th place with 48 points, passing unbeaten through a February in which I predicted we would be mullered regularly. 74 points is the average number of points needed over the last decade to get into the last play-off space in league one. I don't think for a minute we'll do it but let's examine the run-in as I see it: Oxford (A) - Draw Southend (H) - Draw Bury (A) - Win Chesterfield (H) - Win Coventry (A) - Win Shrewsbury (H) - Win Wimbledon (A) - Draw Gillingham (A) - Win Oldham (H) - Win Peterborough (A) - Lose Millwall (H) - Lose That puts us on 69 points, just shy of what we'll probably need (although enough for Chesterfield to sneak it in 2014/15). Anyone fancy us improving on my predictions and making a late charge with this new striker we're apparently getting? Groundbreaking and all that.

Well, Peterborough and/or Millwall might be out of the running/safely in the play-offs by the time we play them, with a bit of luck.

I'm happy as long as we get around the 55 point mark to be honest. I know that a bit pessimistic given our current form, but once we're safe we can start planning for next year.
That and a UWE announcement would make for a great summer

Think we will beat Southend and get at least something v Peterborough and Millwall at home. Just so wish it wasn't Millwall we were playing in the last game especially if it came down to a last day scenario as I'm sure it will be all ticket and less likely to be a family celebration occasion but more likely a highly charged police presence situation because our visitors are in town. Shame really after the previous 2 last day occasions.

I'd been looking forward to the scenes when we deny Millwall a playoff place on the last day all season but after they tonked us at theirs I can't see past a rooting.

So you think our record breaking run of draws will continue then....wow if that happens
I think we may benefit from Oxford getting to Wembley last night and we can sneak a win like our last 2 visits.
I also think Bury will be more difficult now than it might have been since the managerial change.

Gutted about that, I've really enjoyed this season. But if we play in every game til the end like we did angainst Scunthorpe and Bolton:
Oxford (A) - Win Southend (H) - Win Bury (A) - Win Chesterfield (H) - Win Coventry (A) - Win
Shrewsbury (H) - Win Wimbledon (A) - Win Gillingham (A) - Win Oldham (H) - Win Peterborough (A) - Win Millwall (H) - Win
If we don't, however, then we might not.

I think our defence is a lot more resolute than when we last played Millwall plus we're at home so I don't think we'll get tonked.

Think we'll do well to get anything out of Oxford, but think we could get more out of the last 2 games, I think we might just squeak 70 or so points not sure that'll be enough for the playoffs.

Anyone fancy us improving on my predictions and making a late charge with this new striker we're apparently getting? Groundbreaking and all that. If it goes to this plan:
1) We will complete a run of 16 games unbeaten between the Walsall game in January and the Peterborough game in late April. 2) After 44 games we will have the 69 points that you mention - If this is the case, we won't be far off the playoff positions at that time - the Peterborough and Millwall games become massive and we do have a pedigree for playing well and getting results under pressure.
Fingers crossed UTG

The maximum points we can now get is 81. I looked at a couple of 'prediction' sites and both predicted 73 points would be needed for a play off place this season. So all we need is 7 wins, 4 draws and no defeats.....
Upper mid table and absolutely safe in the next game or two would be a great result for this season

I think we have an outside chance and I hope we push till the end. Its great that we still have something to get excited about as i honestly thought wed be looking over our shoulder at this stage of the season rather than looking up. Regardless of what happens, we have a strong base on which to build for next season. UTG

The next two and last two are against teams currently above us. The seven innetween are all against teams currently below us. So far easier than the last month in theory.

I think it's all about momentum, we have to keep going to end of season else it's harder to pick up again next. The minute we concede playoffs are out of reach I fear we'll run out of steam. I'd love it to go to the wire again and really think it might. Hate the idea of a few dead rubbers to see the season out
