Does any club really disappear these days? Don't they just go into administration and then reappear magically in the league below, debt free? And Gasheads know that a year in the conference might actually be a good thing for the club. Wimbledon FC Hereford Utd Darlington FC Chester City Scarborough FC Rushden & Diamonds Halifax Town Salisbury City
All went properly bust, with new clubs set up by fans re-entering the pyramid near the bottom.

Do you know it would only take the Premier players in this country to donate 1% of their weeks wage to the savelayton trust and the club could be saved

Of course, a knock on effect of this, is that in their obvious charge back up the leagues, they take the only promotion place each season, as in most leagues, only one team are promoted. That's not that fair to the teams already down there.

Always makes me wonder who their fans who are 20+ supported before them There used to be a team called Milton Keynes Borough that played in the SML but as most people from Milton Keynes over a certain age come from all over the place (it being a new city) so probably supported teams from where they came. People from Bletchley, Wolverton and Stony probably supported teams like Luton, Northampton or more likely Manchester United and Liverpool etc.

Want Wimbledon to beat MK Dons tonight for the sake of football - expect there to be fireworks on and off the pitch as usually are when these two meet. As for Orient - sorry don't care or for Parkes.

Near the bottom? Just realised how carry-on that sounded
But yes, quite near - usually at the 9th Tier or below.
Wimbledon FC - AFC Wimbledon entered the Combined Counties League
Hereford Utd - Hereford FC, Midland Football League
Darlington FC - Darlington 1883, Northern League
Chester City - Chester FC, North West Counties League
Scarborough FC - Scarborough Athletic, Norther Counties East League and Scarborough Town, Teeside League
Rushden & Diamonds - AFC Rushden and Diamonds, United Counties League
Halifax Town - FC Halifax Town, Northern League
Salisbury City - Salisbury FC, Souther League Div 1 South & West

I guess the message there is, make sure you're in the EFL when it happens.

Don't think Wimbledon went bust Effectively. They ran out of money and their place in the league was taken by a new club. Even MK Dons recognise that MK Dons are not Wimbledon FC by not claiming the 1988 FA Cup win.

The pheonix clubs have to apply for entry to the various leagues, and enter at the highlest level that will accept them, which is going to be higher if the league has reason to believe that they are likely to be competitive in that league - and if they have space. However, the FA decides where they end up.
"If a Club (whether a Members’ Club or a Company) is wound up, liquidated, or is removed from its League or withdraws from football competition (‘the Former Club’), and a new Club (‘the New Club’) is established which wishes to be placed within the NLS, then unless otherwise determined by the LC, it will be allowed to make an application only to join a League/division at Step 5 of the NLS unless the Former Club was in either Step 4 or Step 5 when the event which caused it to cease its membership occurred in which case it must re-join the NLS at a minimum of two Steps below the level at which it was at the time the event occurred, or withdrew from football competition, whichever is lower. Where the Former Club was a member of The FA Premier League or Football League then the LC shall at its absolute discretion determine in which League the New Club shall be placed for the following Playing Season and will set out at its complete discretion the requirements to be met by the New Club. "

Even disputing dubious facts should other fans or the FA / FL league be supporting clubs that run out of money because fans don't support them?
