Whatever he is I don't think he will be here next year unless he starts scoring goals, as that is what we need. I said earlier, even if he scores 8 goals from now-on-in, D.C won't sign him. Not so sure about that - though I think the above is unlikely.

i would guess that Easter will be here next year and James will not.... I'd bet on the exact opposite! Jebus

I think Luke James will go on a mini scoring run between now and the end of the season and I also think DC will sign Him on a free for next season.
Think we will release Lucas and either Gaffney or Harrison. Gaffney now scoring so very interesting dilema.

"The number 10 shirt is arguably the most cherished number to be worn by schoolboys all across the world, with the likes of Pele and Diego Maradona making it famous."............... It's a position within a 442 formation and has nothing to do with ability, so you are way off with conflating his description as a number 10 as a suggestion that he is in someway comparable to the two greatest footballers ever to have lived. Perhaps "little guy in a front two" will be a clearer way to express this - but to confirm, he is not Lionel Messi, Pele or Maradonna. In the same way saying someone's a centre back isn't saying they are Carlos Puyol. Or saying someone is a singer doesn't mean they are equal to Frank Sinatra.

Hope you are right mate, though if James is scoring we might keep both Harrison and Gaffers, depending on performances obviously. And what about Easter, assuming the contact extension rumours are correct?

You can guarantee the OP wouldn't have started this thread, had it not been for the missed penalty.
What a shame that some can't wait to jump on a player's back.

Time for some fresh faces and some forwards who are actually going to score double figures for the season I did say at the beginning of the season that Matty Taylor would be the only Rovers player to score more than 10 league goals this season... Well done.

He is good enough. Did you not see how he set Gaffney up? When the highlights are out, check out the quality of the control and pass. I know. I was at the game. He was brought in to score goals and if he doesn't do that, DC will NOT sign him up. In my opinion, he will score goals. We just need to have a little more patience with him.

What's all this crap about, people saying all he needs is a bit of luck. He hasn't had any bad luck. He just doesn't get in to goalscoring positions. The penalty today was woefully bad. He does work exceptionally hard and has great control and a super eye for a pass, but I have so far seen nothing to suggest that the lad looks anything remotely resembling a goalscorer. And just remember what an expert I am in that department. You re a weather expert Boner you don't know your Harry Kane from your citizen Kane, the kid has ability we have had loads of slow starters in front of goal, and for once fans see his work rate and can see something in the kid, he s going to make it, I ll bet you my Lucy Verasamy photos!

"this has nothing to do with the pen miss" It was in my 2nd sentence! But hey "some can't wait to jump on a player's back" even though its taken me 8 months to "jump on a players back" Got yourself a bit muddled up there eh? If I couldn't have waited, I would have posted this after his first game...... Instead of posting on here 24/7, try to get to a game or two.... Facepalm for ggmi AGAIN........ LOL can't wait even though he's been here for 8 months.....

Thing is since Twatty Failure left we've won 3 drawn 6 and lost one and James has played in the majority of those games so on that front he's doing alright. As long as the teams doing well it means the players are doing well.

I like James' work-rate and general contribution to the team but I suspect he realises that unless he knocks in at least 2 or 3 before the end of the season that DC will have to look elsewhere despite his loyalty to the lad. I really hope he gets a goal or two next Saturday but who knows.

Out of our current three 'strikers' I can only see DC keeping one and looking elsewhere for at least two replacements. So for me it's goodbye RG & EH - I think he will sign LJ on a free. None of them have exactly turned up this season and established themselves as League 1 standard strikers with EH in particular being given every chance.

Gaffers appears to have started scoring. James is playing well enough but not getting goals. I will wait and see till the end of the season
