Budgets tend to be set on the previous season's income, our gates have increased by 16.3% this season so it's entirely possible that there would be a commensurate and significant increase (say 10-15%) in our budget. do you take into account the increased costs of the new training ground purchase/update ? You know I didn't, well that's me buggered then.

Time for some fresh faces and some forwards who are actually going to score double figures for the season I did say at the beginning of the season that Matty Taylor would be the only Rovers player to score more than 10 league goals this season... Bodin will hit double figures for sure, but originally you actually said Taylor would be the only 'striker' to do it so you're still on for being correct

Sounds more like dogs than "birds". You can put lipstick and make-up on a moose - but - it's still a moose. Been there many times sadly.

Don't dislike what I've seen from James but he has the same (perhaps bigger) problem that Harrison and Gaffney have not one of them looks like a 20+ goals per season, indeed I'd be surprised if there is a 10+ goals per season player amongst. At that return you can barely consolidate at this level let alone progress. My best guess is DC will keep which ever ones are under contract and let the others go and try (or experiment) with someone else next season.

Christ if that's your best guess what's your worst, given it's been well publicised that single one of our strikers are out of contract come the summer and so are all playing for new contracts.

Not sure if I was a player looking for an upwardly mobile club to join how much our crap stadium would deter me.Crowds a plus as I wouldn't want to play in front of tiny attendances week in week out.Everything is relative of-course.Elderly Alfreton supporter became very emotional about playing at such a big club when he watched us demolish his part timers whereas Bolton referred to the Mem as having a stand like something from Chernobyl. Players go where the money is,everything else is secondary by a long way. monaco get tiny gates but pay big so get good players and all the players rushing out to china are just going for the cash simple. Jack wilshire is on loan at bournemouth on what 70k a week? Obviously we need a new ground for the future of the club but the players dont care imo.

There lies the problem, james, harrison and gaffney are all decent but if our budget is significantly higher next season we may be able to get better if its the same it may be difficult to find better players. Ps i know its not all about money but if you look through the leagues its the larger budget teams that usually prevail. We won't be a higher budget team and we have never really been big spenders. I'd say most fans are pretty happy with the culture wrt bringing players on. There is also no guarantee of success with money and although you are right generally there are also plenty of examples of large budgets failing. I know we have never been big spenders but we have also never achieved anything of note in our history. Im hoping that might just change but im not holding my breath.

www.theposhforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28451Peterborough fans have written him off. I've just got a good feeling about this. Peterborough look to offload him, DC doesn't come across over keen so we get him on the cheap. LJ feels more confident with somewhere he is settled and a club who believes in him. LJ becomes a regular goalscorer at L1 level 17/18. Heard it here first. Him playing well but not prolific could be a good thing for us when it comes to signing him.

It's good for Rovers because James can't and hasn't looked like scoring a goal? .....okay.

I could see the logic in that argument if he was just going though a Gaffers like dodgy patch but he hasn't been scoring regularly for 3 seasons, I'd like to be proven wrong next season but I can't see him suddenly becoming prolific just because DC believes in him!
