Good to see we are addressing the major issues players have to improve as they go up the leagues ............ or we go back down againĀ Players have play as per game plan. Do you think if Locks was playing long balls against management teams instructions he would continue to be selected with the regularity that he does? One thing is quite clear with DC, get the job done as required, or he is prepared to drop anyone.

Should be pretty clear to anyone who's been watching us at all this season that this is part of our gameplan. We're playing percentage football, and whist not the prettiest we do get a lot of joy from picking up 2nd balls and such.
I imagine the same people who moan about this are the same people who moan when we drop deep and hold our shape instead of chasing around like headless chickens and getting picked off.

Sometimes we do, against certain teams we don't. Northampton home,Shef Utd away and Bolton away for eg we never played percentage football and i'm sure there are more. Each game is a different project as DC tells us.

As a former defender I always used the one statement when helping younger defenders "if in doubt - hoof it out". Very difficult for the opposition to score if the ball is in row Z, or behind their backline.
Recently we have become more adept at pressurising the opposition defenders and creating chances that way. Stuart Sinclair, Luke James and Ollie Clarke are pretty good at it. Has to be all part of the game plan.
