If he does go, would we look lower down the leagues at an up and coming manager like Peter Beadle who has just got Hereford FC promoted again? I don't even want to think about that. It's a bit like when your shagging a bird that's well out of your league, you know it's not going to last for ever because sooner or later she'll realise that there's better out there but there's no point in worrying about it you've just got to keep drilling her and enjoy it as much as you can while you can. This would start the next forum meltdown.....

With all due respect to Beadle, Hereford are at such a low level at the moment. Great to see them on the way back up though. At the very least you'd need to see how they do at the National League levels. I'd certainly want to go along those same lines again when DC goes, probably with someone tested at Conference/L2 level though.

Next Tuesday (28th March) will mark three years for DC as our manager.
How are we feeling about him now?

Its bound to happen within the next couple of years! My only hope is that there's *proper* progress on the ground by then to set us up long term, especially as Hamer's recruitment is totally unknown this side of the millenium

Get the go ahead for the ground, give him a good spending budget, he'll be here for a long, long time.

tip-top I'd say Never doubted him. I did in the first handful of games in the conference, but I could see team spirit and him having a plan b as positives. I wasn't one of the many here who wanted him out, but for sure he has massively exceeded my expectations from the early days.

I did in the first handful of games in the conference, but I could see team spirit and him having a plan b as positives. I wasn't one of the many here who wanted him out, but for sure he has massively exceeded my expectations from the early days. He always impressed me. I remember when he first came as assistant and he instantly made an impression on me with the way he made an effort with all the fans and asked my little brother who his favourite player was. Then his interview on the radio, not long after we went down. Sounded like a man who was on a mission and confident he could turn the club around. Jun 19, 2014 at 11:12am Gas Go Marching In said: When we appointed Buckle as manager I thought we were appointing a successful up and coming young manager who likes to play attacking football. Instead we got an arrogant **** with a shocking defence. Clarke is a young manager who has like Buckle had success outside of the league. However, unlike Buckle seems a much more decent guy and has already accepted some blame for our failings which Buckle never did. We are signing young and hungry players. Buckle promised to reduce the wage bill and get good value out of players which may be the case for aims but Clarke has also demonstrated today that he isn't going to be prepared to pay over the odds in wages to keep players here like Lee Brown which can only be a good thing going forwards. Clarke says all the right things but so did Buckle. I think Clarke could be the right man, I just hope Clarke really can be what we expected Buckle to be, we as fans deserve it.
