So we go to the 33,000 capacity Ricoh Saturday, 8th in League 1, with 4,000 fans. Two years ago this weekend we played away at Macclesfield in front of a 2,500 crowd with those of us in the away end being handed anti Sainsburys Orange T shirts to show the millions watching on TV what a despicable company we thought they were for depriving us of our new stadium! If anyone then would have told us where we'd be playing and how many fans we'd take 2 years on, and that we'd be in with a chance of promotion to the championship and that we didn't need Sainsburys money to build a new ground or redevelop what would we have said? Cloud Cookoo land? Well that's where we are! Cloud Cookoo Land!

Some people on here wouldn't know what to do with a half empty glass, they're that negative.

I remember the Macclesfield game well, I had a Lamb phall the night before and the toilet wasn't working on the train, I got off the train and sprinted to the nearest pub and the bloody toilet didn't even have a seat, not that it bothered me at the time, would've gone in the sink if I had to.
On top of that it was one of the most boring games in a wet, grim ground, and I couldn't find my ticket for the train back and had to buy another one, all in all not a great day.
Having learnt my lesson, I won't be having a spicy one on Friday night this week.

Sainsbury have really felt the pinch too. 40000 Wembley veterans refusing to shop has been a real kidney punch.

Fair play to all the Gas that made the trip, it just shows how far we have come since those dark days and I for one am extremely relieved and grateful for where we are now.

Watched that match, from a desert location in the Middle East, part from Puddy making a save, fascinated by seeing grass for the first time in months.

Me and Mrs Z decide to make a weekend of it in the Peak District for that match. Also booked hospitality for the game. Found a lovely pub with B&B but the weather was dank and grey all weekend. When we arrived at Macclesfield's ground they weren't sure what to do with us as visiting fans didn't normally book hospitality. A couple more Gas turned up who had also booked so they squeezed us on a table with some locals, as it was an early kick off the meal was a full English Breakfast, and we had not long had one of those in the B&B . We had a good chat and some banter with the locals. As everyone got up to go to their stand seats we asked where we would be sitting, they didn't have a clue, so said you had better go in the away seating and got the steward to let us through the gate. Half time comes and we are supposed to go back to the hospitality room for tea / coffee and snacks, a different steward on the gate wouldn't let us through, so i kick up a fuss and demand to see a supervisor, eventually get through to find all the snacks had gone and the tea / coffee was cold.
point of the story is I loved the haphazard approach to football at that level and its something i miss as we go higher up the leagues. Have great memories of Halifax, Dartford, Dover, Kiddiminster, Woking, Nuneaton Etc not so much of FGR could do without them TBH.

From what I can remember there wasn't much grass on the pitch just mud, much like the other 22 grounds during that season. There were some shockers thank f**k me managed to get out of that sticky situation at the 1st attempt!

Nor me - and Argos is now off-limits as well, although I have £40 worth of Argos vouchers still to spend - on principle I'll go to the one at Cribbs Causeway, not the one in Filton Sainsburys store and after that they'll never see me again.

Most of us try to be very positive about the club, but there are always a few people who say 'yes but' to any positive comment. Maybe they're just being realists, in which case what are they doing supporting the Gas 😉. Any which way you look at it, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Drew 2-2 on each occasion.

Remember the lock out at Woking, the food at Kiddie, the freezing cold and fog right up to the half way line at Nuneaton, Mansell almost winning it for us in the last minute at Halifax, and Mildenhall punching the ball into his own net at Dartford. As for Macclesfield, apart from the Rovers fans dressed in anti Sains shirts, I remember Easter putting the ball over the bar in the first half when it looked easier to score. But my greatest memory of the game was getting to within a few miles of the ground only to find one of the main roads in had been closed due to flooding and nobody by the bollards knowing where to go. I don't own a sat nav and I ended up doing a 25 mile detour. Good thing I left home early.

Sometimes pop in for a sh*t and always use as much toilet paper as possible - that'll learn 'em. Haven't spent a penny with them since the news broke they were pulling out though. C*nts.

Hadn't thought of using Sainsbury's as I toilet, as I too refuse to spend mone in there, my mother in law does, but I can't say to much as I'm worried about inheritance. Do you use the toilet or aisle?

I remember having to ask the local pub to put it on as it was my first year of uni in Plymouth and I didn't have tv. 5 minutes before kick off another few Gasheads showed up and it made for a great day regardless of the quality of the game.

I think it is a place better reserved for those 6 fingered, inbred retards in South Bristol. They are, after all, expecting to be competing in Europe in what, 4 years time now!
