Has the S**TS attendance gone up this season, since their new stand was built?? New facilities attract new fans. Look at how teams attendances at clubs like Swansea, changed after moving into a new ground
We still sell out seating most games and have sold out the stadium, plus it will create extra revenue, attract better players, which will attract more fans.
Away teams will bring more fans to a new stadium.
To keep progressing on the pitch, we need to develop the club off it.

Our crowds are better today then Brighton, swansea, Hull as well as others were while they still played at there old stadiums. We need a new arena asap to fulfil our potential. City's crowds have jumped up because of there new stands, and if we had the UWE right now I've got little doubt that our avg would float around the 12-15k Mark. People need to remember that the Mem is a COMPLETE sh8t hole compared to 95% of stadiums today, so to average over 9K is still decent.

The guy isn't a WUM or a shithead, just very bad at asking questions. We need the new stadium so we can generate non-matchday revenue. Why we don't sell out is anyone's guess. Poor facilities, lack of decent seating (most don't want to stand these days!), poor parking/access. It's often very difficult to buy 2 seats together at the Mem these days. Believe me, I've tried! Nothing wrong with the mem hugo , not being funny but if you can't buy two seats together ,lose weith fatty

2 promotions almost invincible at home but why such small crowds relative to the size of bristol and compared to bristol city? I'm willing to bet that a few beers were on board last night when this was posted? Or perhaps I'm being to kind, im all for debate and a bit of banter but this is just plain stupid and an insult to this forum! Im just suprised that every week the club are not announcing tickets only as our tiny stadium is sold out. We need a new ground to have a chance to progress but unless we get in the premier league i do wonder if our attendances will increase much from what they are now.

He's right we should stay in a run down ground and never aim higher because we don't sell out. Just like Brighton and Swansea did oh and Huddersfield Dont forget coventry and darlington.

Just like Brighton and Swansea did oh and Huddersfield Dont forget coventry and darlington. 2 extreme cases. Coventry charged loads to play there, so had to move etc. Darlington was never going to work, with 3 clubs close by the size of Newcastle, Sunderland and Middleborough. Bristol is big enough to have 2 well supported teams.

In answer to the original question. The old saying 'build it and they will come' was never truer than in this instance. A 21000 seater stadium on the edge of Filton/Bradley Stoke etc. would attract much better crowds, with great motorway and rail links, it also appeals to out of Bristol fans and away fans too.
We would get 20-30% higher crowds for those reasons alone, without throwing in the better facilities and attractiveness to prospective players.
Win win as far as I'm concerned.

The past ten years City have averaged circa 12.5K. That's with yo-yoing from the 2nd and 3rd division. New stadium and they have what, 15K season ticket holders?
New stadiums always entice more, if we get to play Chanpionship football in the first season, for the first time in a very long time then I think we'll be looking at crowds of at least 15K. We would have to push and be strong like Brighton to keep the crowd and entice even more though, something City haven't managed to do.
We need new fans to do so, new fans don't want to visit a stadium with little seating where they're more than likely to get drenched on rainy days.

Bristol is big enough to have 2 well supported teams. Add in that Coventry are a struggling 3rd Division club surrounded by the likes of Leicester City, WBA, Stoke to name a few. The pitfalls of playing in a rented stadium where you are not wanted are manifold, they need to go & groundshare with the older of the local egg chasing clubs to stand a chance of surviving.

The Al-Q's are established business who've recently carried out an independent feasibility study via E&Y and all parties seem to be content the UWE is still viable, what more proof do we need? Bristol is one of the bigger growth City's in the UK we need to tap into that growth now, before potential fans find a different club to follow.

Bluebutterfly is the old poster 1973.
You know, the one who implied people were racist when they weren't happy with Ellis being pictured at Trashton.
"when 3 rovers players watch city play but only one is vilified it smacks of blatant racism in my opinion"
But all carry on getting wound up by his posts.
