So we are not debt free then?? The accounts are up to 30th June 2016, so no, not on that date.
Did anyone believe that was not the case?

So we are not debt free then?? Sounds like the debt is worse than when Higgs was in charge?

So we are not debt free then?? We wernt anyway. It was said at the time that the MSP loan was repaid and other debts (directors loans i guess) would be cleared over time.

Sounds like the debt is worse than when Higgs was in charge? This is until end of June 2016. The Al-Qadis only turned up at the middle of Feb I thought when they took over they wiped our debts but hold them in Dwane Sports against the value of the Mem. Is it just that they hadn't done this by June and now have or are we still in debt?

Well, I'm fairly sure many assumed we were effectively debt free, yes. I'm certainly surprised to see we still owe 8M. Do these accounts indicate that we still own the ground then? I would suggest if we owe 8M and don't own the ground we are considerably worse off no?

So what is the £8m debt all about? It's not new, since it was there last year. I thought we had a £3m or so mortgage on the Mem, but I might be wrong.
The rest I know nothing about.

Not sure many users of the forum thought we were debt free but assumed debts would have reduced by at least the MSP loan i.e. by around £1.5m, it seems that the debt was simply transferred to DS last year not paid off as others claimed? Not sure how to take the comments that Mr H Al-Q is prepared to maintain support for at least 12 months.

The 12 months bit i assume you are probably refering to the auditors comments (i havet read the accounts fully). That is pretty standard just means with those liabilities we wouldnt continue with support and that the Al-Qadis will support the club through to the next audit. It would say the same next year.

32 pages of utter guff on the UWE thread and yet this doesn't even reach a page in 2 days?
I despair.

All relevant to 2014 where "things had not gone to plan"!!! That should be printed off and put in a frame as a reminder to our custodians that it should never happen again! MSP loan was £2.6m! On the face of it, it costs a lot of money to run a football club Let's hope the 2016/17 accounts look better! Expect to pay more for your football at UWE and beyond. Bit concerned that it mentions minimum ticket price of £60 for Champions League matches. How's that for 8:30 on a Sunday Hugo? 👍

You can't endlessly speculate over an audited account sheet Hugo, it is cold hard facts and states our financial situation, absolutely, no if's, no but's.
If the ground is ever built, and quite why this is all taking so long if both parties, as we are told, want it to happen is beyond me, there will be pages of speculation and guff about build time, cost, who carries the debt, UWE, leasehold etc etc etc......l!
Getting anything done at Rovers Is a bit like mating Elephants.
It can't be achieved without a lot of trumpeting, bellowing and anguish, and takes several years to bear fruit.

I'm thinking the liabilities could be loans from Dwane Sports and/or the Al Qadi family. There are laws governing transactions between connected parties therefore its probably a case that the money invested has to be a loan.
Even if this isn't the case, there's no point just giving the club money as should we ever make a profit, the investment could be repaid without a tax hit.
Of course I'm just guessing on this!
