A couple things:
1) what was the celebration about? Seemed very important to Elis to celebrate- I think with the dugout... does anyone know why this was?
2) Fairplay to him. I struggle with Elis. I thought he was a having a mare on Monday- but he stuck at it, worked himself into the game, got a goal and stopped a shot that likely could have been destined for the net. This season he has shown greater maturity. He's now works hard for the team and has a chance of making it.
Finally, if Elis is to kick on- I think he should 'charge' to the penalty box more often. He's bringing people into play, and then semi following the ball to make an angle for the return. Hard to criticise that. More and more he's winning the ball with ease and it's good that he wants to help team mates. But... we need someone in the box- after Hartley, he's possibly our best headerer of a football. If he can keep doing the first bit but then seek the box he'll quickly find himself scoring.

The answer to 1) will be soon revealed by the person he hugged As for 2) after a poor first half the goal lifted Ellis and the rest of the match showed what he is capable of and if only ....... he could repeat this on a regular basis. Ellis has all the attributes and perhaps as he grows older he will prove to be the player we all want him to be.

Could have done with some of that togetherness at most away games we have limped out of and there might well have been something to celebrate.

The kid can't fecking win

The kid can't fecking winI don't think anyone is having a go at Ellis for his celebration, just asking if there was a reason behind it. All the players ran to SY so it would appear that there was a reason. A bit like how all the players ran to DC when Hartley scored at Chesterfield and nobody really knew why at the time. As it turned out, there was a very good reason for it. UTG!

It was implied in the first reply in this thread that there is a reason and that SY will reveal what that is soon enough so I've no idea why peterparker is getting so touchy about it. There might be a reason, there might not, but it is fairly unusual for the players to celebrate in the manner that they did so it's pretty obvious why people are speculating.

Which would explain why when he is good, he is very good and when he is bad, he is very bad. He has probably come in for some harsh criticism over the last few years which he has mainly brought on himself. But maybe if the fanbase wasn't so harsh on him and didn't jump on his back as soon as he does something wrong, then we would see much more consistent performances from him. UTG!

We scored, team and management celebrated. That's it
