He seems fit enough, has proved he can play at the front of a 5 man midfield, uses the ball well and has chipped in with a few goals. Might be a shrewd move to offer him a 1 year deal?

Seems unlikely given his age and that DC already told him to bugger off. Though he did go back on his word and brought him back into the team.

I would sign Easter ahead of our other "strikers". Only on a one year deal though.

Easter for me, has been a very useful player for us -This season, last and our conference one.Imho he would be ok as a 4th/5th choice backup in a league one promotion team...which we are aiming for.I would rather keep him, than sign James ( As a forward that is) for next term.

The pecking order for me is:
Bodin Gaffney Harrison Lucas Easter James
We'll need five or six forwards, if we can't sign enough better players then we'll have to build around Bodin. I'm looking for signings to go straight in at the top of the pile and therefore to knock the others off the bottom of the list. I know signing goalscorers is expensive and always a risk, but we've got to go for it, DC has made that clear.
What pecking order do others have?

I'd move him along and free up wages as he is easily on the most money of them all

I think our strikers next season will be: Ellis Gaffney James New New James doesn't strike but agree we should keep Harrison and Gaffers and sign 2 more.

Personally I would release Lucaa and James and keep Gaffers, Easter and Harrison but only at the right price. Two new strikers for me or maybe even three and include Easter as one of my midfield players. I would be looking to release Gosling, Mansell, Mildenhall, Puddy, Greenslade and James Clarke. Two new central midfielders and a winger to challenge Bodin, Monty,Moore and Broom. Not sure about Harris as the player to challenge Brown and if we can't get Sweeney then another tall centre half maybe Dunkley of Oxford. Two keepers would form my minimum number of signings. I think the squad this season have proved themselves in the main to be up to League 1 standard BUT if we want to challenge for the top six then we need to add six quality signings but more important for me is that DC starts with a plan of his best 11 and sticks with that team for a run of games rather than keep changing it. Too many of his "projects" this season particularly away have not come off.

Just keep Easter and gaffney. Under used this and last season. Too clever for half our team.

How do any of us know what Easter is earning? Given he wants to stay local I'd imagine finding another league club isn't going to be easy, so we could well get him on the cheap? Is he also a potential forwards coach if we ever get to the Championship? Strikers for next season: Gaffney Easter Harrison?? Snake replacement New CF Wingers Bodin Monty? New LW Bloom or New RW Moore transfer listed as a warning message CM's Lines OC Sincs New player Defence Leads Partington ( a real odd signing so far!) Locks Burn Sweeney or AN Other New signing Brown New signing not Harris JC good as a utility player Lumley or AN Other Back up or Mildenhall as player coach? Hodges The big transfers for me are two new strikers, a CM, CH & goalie, plus a winger who can actually cross the ball.

It has been speculated some time ago that Easter had a clause in his contract that subject to appearances he would get a year extension into next season. It was supposed to be the reason Clarke stated he would not play again this season. Presumably when Taylor left Clarke was a striker short so may have swallowed the fact he needed Easters experience (what a beautiful headed pass for Gaffney's goal yesterday) Was Easter on high wages but has agreed to waive his contract for a new lower pay day. Personally either way high or low payday I would be happy. It's also possible a deal was agreed to pay him off without getting the extension he would have been entitled too. UTG

Probably release Easter. The 'unmentionable' & James will obviously need replacing - and for me it's a toss up between Harrison & Gaffney - I don't feel we can keep both of them - neither are anywhere near good enough to be in team with aspirations to be in the top 6 next season - as strikers they simply do not do the job they're paid to do - score enough goals. This division IMO is a step too far for both of them - a bit of a dilemma for DC. The good news is, I believe they are both out of contract so it's effectively DC's call.

Don't think he was ever brought in to throw straight in. I expect to see more of him next season as Sweeney will be gone.
