Came under a lot of very harsh abuse yesterday, still a young, homegrown player and able to develop so it's a yes from me!

Definitely a yes from me. His record for us is more worthy of respect than it gets. He still has improvement in him and is currently our best striker at the club.

Abusing any player helps nobody. I would offer Ellis a one year contract with us having the option of a second. Would not up his pay very much if at all as he needs to prove he can be more consistent. I still think Ellis can be a league 1 player and can be a useful squad member. I would be keeping him and Gaffers and possibly Lucas and be looking to add a couple of new faces. The snake has gone, Easter will probably be released and I worry if James is offered a contract. Ellis is quite capable of 8 to 12 goals a season possibly more so he's a useful squad player even if not a starter in every game.

I would never abuse any of our players, but he's the best of four not very good strikers. We need to recruit two at least, is also say ta da to Bob Harris🖐🏿

If we really want to challenge for promotion next season then it's a no from me.

it's a no brainer really , we need 4 strikers for next year and we are never going to bring in a whole new strike force. it's not champ manager is it. 2 new strikers ellis and gaffers for next year.

2 of the current four should stay.
Gaffers and Ellis for me.

Would add that DC likes 4/5 strikers.
Had Taylor not left -we'd of had 5 but with Easter being 'out'
When we got promoted ended with:
Mcburnie Easter Gaffney Taylor 1/2 Harrison (loaned out)
When went up from the conference:
Blissett Easter Taylor Harrison 1/2 Supplemented by a loan ala- Goldberg, Cunnington, Wall.
I would have thought keep 2. Sign 3- loan one out.

Joint second top scorer and probably started less games than others would be daft not to keep him. On a side note can we have a separate section for all the Ellis threads.

No.
Made his senior debut 6 years ago this month.
We wouldn't be having the same debate every season if he actually fulfilled this 'potential'.

Im amused that people think Ellis is our best striker. Gaffers does more in 1 game than Ellis does in 5.

So Ellis goals have disappointed you have they very important goals may I add we could still be in the conference playing Braintree That was 2 seasons ago against Conference defenders. Should we resign Monkhouse too? The team has moved on. It's perfectly possible to accept that Ellis has scored some vital goals in the last few seasons but still note that some of his performances have been disappointing isn't it?

Yes. Talking to MS and listening to DC they both rate him. I know he's frustrating but I trust them to know more than me.

Good points made by both sides of the argument so far, in my opinion he'll never develop with unless he's not a regular starter, whether or not he'd leave us in search of that is a different story.
