The bing bong man is an utter embarrassment . Why does he have to interrupt in the middle of an attack? If he HAS to make an announcement why can't he wait until there is a gap in play? Is he actually watching the game or in a dark room under the stand? I am sure one day the bing bong will go off as one of our players is running up to take a penalty!
Apart from all that it's difficult to hear what he's on about anyway he sounds so old and frail.
Time to retire old chap!

And the worst thing is I've never understood a word of what he's said!

I do worry that the announcement will be critical one day, eg get home quick your mum/dad has been rushed to hospital, and nobody will get the message. But is it the bloke or the tannoy?

The bloke because he has a very weak voice and should not be in a job where clear communication is very important. He also devalues every announcement with diabolical timing!

We know not to rush the pitch. It's Millwall FFS.

The man is utterly useless. You can hear Nick Day easily yet a message which could be massively important is impossible to hear. I honestly can't think of a time that I actually understood what he said.

We could hear him clearly enough in the West Enclosure. Presumably the Police asked him to give out the messages regarding the motor bikes and cars - is he supposed to ignore them? And wouldn't you be grateful if you were the person who had lost his/her credit card and now knew you could collect it after the game? Most games, apart from the safety announcement, we don't hear from him so it's not like today was during every game. Agreed he sounds old and boring - probably the same age as me in fact, but safety announcements are not supposed to be entertaining.

There are numerous breaks in play in fact on average 30 minutes of the 90 are breaks in play. It's not just today he's always done it!

Jesus Christ, some people on here with zero tact. Yes he isn't the best but some of the comments in this thread are borderline abusive. The chances are the old boy does the announcements on a completely voluntary basis to the benefit of the club, and knowing how the club has been run historically there's a a good chance he can't see the pitch from wherever the bing bong machine is located! Imagine if he or someone who knows him had to read this sh*te.
If you all feel that strongly why not suggest to the club that in the interest of safety something is done?

Although you could ask why the numpties attending games have to block drives & bus lanes, as is that difficult to park w/o blocking something!

I found it strange that 20 minutes from the end of the game he announced could a car owner return to his car as he was blocking a bus lane. If that was the case why when bus drivers have radios was it not announced around kickoff time.

I lost 2 motorbikes close to the Mem today. I chained them together for security. Has anyone seen them?

Bit more respect for an older guy who may have been at the club years.
It isn't ideal, the safety announcement at the start is never to my taste but it may be his role will be given to someone else next year but not sure he deserves some of the comments above

It isn't ideal, the safety announcement at the start is never to my taste but it may be his role will be given to someone else next year but not sure he deserves some of the comments above Respect? He's showing no respect to the fans by making diabolically timed announcements. He is devaluing the importance of the job with the frequency and timing and doesn't in any case speak clearly or strongly enough for such an important job! I have no wish to offend him but he needs to know that the timing of his announcements mean they lose all value. The club need to sort this and the clarity. It shouldn't be the fans who need to point this out. I thought we were meant to be professionally run these days!
