Shamesburys profits down.
Like to think our boycotting adds a little to their pain, I'm well aware it's a drop in the ocean, but it still puts a smile on my face.

Superb news. 3 years since my house has given those lady gardens a single penny. Same here and they won't see another penny of mine in future either. I do love a good news story to start off my day.

Not spent a penny there since they did the dirty, not missed them at all, plenty of cheaper options offering equal quality.

Without the actions of Sainsbury's we would still be under the rule of the old board in a new stadium saddled with debt...

I used to spend hundreds of pounds a month there on food, petrol and car insurance etc. I haven't spend a penny since! Still get the free air for my tyres though which save me 20p over every other petrol station.

Unfortunately, I bought some shares in them when we were all pally with them. So it's a double whammy - they cost the club millions by backing out on the ground purchase and then the shares loose value hitting my pocket as well. Still I quite like shopping at Lidl.

This is really great. Looks like their decision to move away from superstores and focus on the smaller "Local" stores didn't pay off after all. Shame.

From Construction Enquirer: Southend United submits 22,000-seat stadium plan The club has now confirmed it hopes to start work on the project as soon as it obtains planning. The new ground, designed by architect Populous, will be built at Fossetts Farm to replace the Roots Hall stadium. Previously McLaren and Bowmer & Kirkland had been in talks with the club about delivering an earlier version of the project back in 2011. In a statement the club said: “This submission represents a major step in the future of Southend United Football Club and we now look forward to learning the decision of the council in the coming months. “Should the council approve the submitted plans it would be the club’s intention to commence construction without delay.” A new stadium has been in the offing for 15 years, but plans have foundered several times. The last scheme in 2008 stalled as Sainsbury’s, which was backing the club, suffered setbacks. www.constructionenquirer.com/2017/05/02/southend-united-submits-22000-seat-stadium-plan/Seems we aren't the only club that has been shafted by Shamesbury's!

I hear what you are saying but it doesn't mean that Shamesbury's should get a get of jail free card. When all said and done they never had any intention of buying the mem, they just wanted to make sure the competition didn't. They are lady gardens of the highest order and that is why they will never see a penny of my money ever again and any gashead that still shops there should hang their head in shame.

Thing is, there will be plenty on here that use Sainsbury for one thing or another. I'm not ashamed or frightened to be honest about it. Refusing to shop there does nothing to help BRFC only hinder my convenience.

The only thing I go into Sainsburys for is to use their toilets. They can have my water, but they ain't getting my money.

I always have and always will buy from Sainsbury's as their freshly made pizza is the best around and it's bloody cheap! Proud to be a Sainsbury's clap your hands !

But what happens if the ALQ's deliver the UWE to plan, a state of the art training ground and also top level Championship football, getting shafted by them could then turn out to be the best thing that happened to us?

Each to their own. We all have our own moral code to live up to. Personally hell would freeze over before I would choose to give them a single penny of my money. Must admit I'm finding it more of a hardship to find alternatives to Argos now they have been taken over by the scumbags.
