See the people who attended the AGM said that the budget would be discussed in 2 weeks. Was wondering why it hasn't been decided on already.
How can DC plan properly, if he does not know how much he has to spend. Plus players are signing for clubs already, like Miller to Peterborough, we might not have been interested, but if we were, how can we compete if we don't know how much we can spend. Might miss out on early targets etc.
Might be waiting to see what happens with Uwe first. If we agree a deal and get it signed etc, then surely we can increase the budget. If we can't agree a deal, then it will remain low and DC will probably be off.

What I understand from the AGM last night playing budgets are set by forecasting your revenue for the following season. That then givens you a salary cap for the following season in accordance with FFP rule. You then have to review that forecast in December when you can then modify your salary cap prior to the January transfer window. So the club need to complete this process once the season has finished before setting the budget, also DC is on a break we were told last night. This is also why the new stadium is critical.

Nobody can sign for another club until the 1 June so why would players agree anything until they had every offer on the table to consider?

Just asking some questions. I have not slated the board at all in the past and just thought we would have this kind of thing sorted in advance.
Yes some players will take there time, others like to get it sorted before they go on holiday etc. Other clubs are signing players, yet DC does not have a clue how much he will even have to spend. Just surprised we have not sorted it already. Surely we could have forecasted projections in advance for league 1 or the championship if we managed to go up.
Just surprised to hear that this has not been done yet. The old board would have been slated if they said that. I hope everything goes well during the summer.

I'm sure DC & Wael will have already spoken, no doubt at some length, about what's needed for next season, the retained list agreed, deals offered to our out of contract players and initial targets drawn up. The actual figures are already known, they are hardly going to sit around a table in two weeks and make drastic changes are they??

But Dc has mentioned finding out about the budget a number of times lately and said we need to invest now and push on. So does not sound like he knows how much he will have.

I fully expect DC to be gone now in the summer. Same old story. Can I ask why you think that ? To my mind DC would have been perfectly up to speed with exactly what is going on before he went away. He seemed pretty relaxed about budgets in his post match interview on Sunday so what's changed since then ?

Even if DC did know the budget I wouldn't expect him to start running around like a kid in a sweet shop.
From the interviews I've heard he strikes me as a very thrifty kind of person, he will want to get the best possible value from the budget available and he's not the sort to panic buy.
I'll bet he does have a minimum budget figure already agreed with Wael but this may be increased if UWE is signed and sealed.

I fully expect DC to be gone now in the summer. Same old story. If we want's to go then so be it - Wael and his family have given him a big pay-rise, funded transfers of players who don't even get a game, boosted his backroom and medical staff numbers, bought a training ground, and continue to negotiate UWE. It's not the same old story. DC will go one day and I hope it's not soon but for me continued whinging over the budget before it's even set is getting tiresome.

In general terms, Management accounts are based on the previous period (usually 12 months) projected forward and adjusted as the board and rules stipulate. We would have projected forward to the end on our accounting period with these assumptions and adjusted for it along the way. In corporations they are usually reviewed on a monthly basis but could be at other times. I suspect that the next meeting would be to validate the last month and sign off the whole 12 months for next season's official budget under FFP. I would doubt that we get to now without having any idea of what to expect, either the board or DC.
