Owners must love being able to pull the 'FFP' card. I haven't ever bothered reading the small print of the 'rule', but is it even enforced to any significant degree? Are we the only club trying to abide by it!? I do believe that most clubs dont care about the FFP and we seem to be scared off breaching it. Just like someone else pointed out Peterborough are straight out the gates signing player - they dont wait until July like we seem to for some reason - and have almost 30 first team players. They average a whole 4000 less supporters than us. Hard to believe we could come close to breach FFP when Peterborough operate in such a way. Of course there ways to get around FFP "Rules" such as owners sponsoring stadium which counts as revenue. Trouble is peterborough have been league one"s bristol city, spending lots of money and getting nowhere fast.

They've sold £21m of players in recent years, you can't compare them to Rovers purely on attendance figures plus their wealthy owner probably only as to worry about the wage bill not also financing a new ground & training facilities. As things stand we're losing around £1m a season so unless the ALQ's dig into their own wallets (there's been no signs they are willing to do that) or use the MT/Chelsea money they can't be a lot of spare cash to give DC, who I assume once wanted the extra back room staff we've employed and also the money spent on the pitch this summer.

So DC is asking for the most he can, I see no reason to believe he won't get it but if doesn't- if he gets a top 12 budget that's not unreasonable either. He had a top 12 budget last season and wasn't happy with it. As confirmed by Steve Brookfield at the AGM. strange because DC said it was bottom 8

Only bottom 8 at the start of the season apparently but I assume he got more in January when he showed Wael the GPS stats after the Shrewsbury game!!

Frankly i hope DC gets a decent budget but no-one outside of our management team no what it is and we tell the press its low. Shouting about a top 10 budget will just have agents rubbing their hands.
As to whether we had a bottom 8 or top 12 budget it's guess work by everyone DC the bloke at the AGM and everyone on here, unless I've missed the football league publishing a list of playing budgets by club.

Well, I hope that with some inventive accounting Wael et al will be able to give DC exactly what he wants. This is a manager in a million, we need to keep him for as long as possible. Wael has struck gold with what he inherited last February. He has been able to hit the ground running and should do everything he can to keep the momentum. Situations like this only come along once in a generation at a club like ours. Previous promising eras have foundered because of a lack of resources, that's why the Sh1t have had the upper hand these last 17 years. The time is now. Give DC what he wants. AND A 5 YEAR CONTRACT ! I wholeheartedly agree. Until we fail to get a win in our first 5 games of the season and everyone questions whether DC's right for the club

This might be a really stupid question but does every club have to publicly declare what their budget is ?. If the answer is no then how do we know if we have a top 10 or bottom 8 budget. Just asking .

Just asking . No, and no-one does know. The game is if you want to show your support for DC you claim it's as low as possible and if you want to show your support for Wael you claim it's as high as possible and if you want to show your support for both you flip between the 2 and hope no-one notices

Just asking . Budgets not published but the EFL provides this information to club chairmen based on returns provided by clubs.

Any club manager also suggested that was the case, but I assume if DC's getting out bid for players by certain clubs he can have an educated guess on their budget anyway.

Just signed Jermaine Beckford on a 2 year ffs Plus just signed another ex-Championship player, this for a club how apparently have such serious money problems they are two months late submitting their annual accounts! Perhaps DC needs to be just aiming for a top 11 budget.
