A desperately sad day for lower league football in this country. The EFL is at the mercy of the financially bloated Premier League who are looking to rip the soul out of another competition having finished the job with their own. They're looking for a playground to showcase and develop their stockpiled talent and many clubs have seemingly sold out to provide it. Disgraceful.
The boycott action needs to be stepped up and a clear message sent out that supporters won't accept this.

so we have to go through the boycotting saga again, just goes to show how money controls football and what the fans want is irrelevant to the authoritys. coventry and oxford should be ashamed.

I'll be boycotting again this season and next.
Seems that money talks louder than anything else for most clubs

But apart from the obvious of boycotting what else could we do?

20k sweetener probably swayed the vote, will help to cover our losses for our 3 matches.

I think we need to start now in encouraging all Gashead's to boycott the home games in future, so that the games take place in an effectively empty Mem, as a few hundred fans turning saying they aren't making a difference clearly are.

Mmmm ... Do wonder what would have happened if the sh** got relegated and we have played each other like in the previous JPT at Ashton

Can't blame Coventry and Oxford particularly, I suspect many Rovers fans would have gone if we were in the same situation. What clubs need to get into their heads is that only two can get to Wembley, only four can get to the semi-finals etc. Go out at any stage before that and you probably lose money from the lower crowds.

I'll be boycotting again this season and next. Seems that money talks louder than anything else for most clubs think its quiet ironic that on one hand we don't want any part of the competition that can help fund our club/team but we are begging Wael to pump millions into DC's budget to make us a better team... Double standards here

Double standards here Not at all. Haven't seen anyone wanting Wael to sell out and surrender the integrity of lower league football in order to make us a few quid. Still, at least the 1,418 who backed the competition last season have more games to enjoy. Maybe even a competitive derby against Bristol City U23 in the not too distant future.

If they are relaxing the rules for L1/L2 sides to play younger players then it effectively allows clubs like Rovers to also enter 'B teams' into the competition. If it becomes a level playing field for all clubs to play reserve fixtures then I could end up supporting it. Gives the games a bit more profile than the normal reserve games. I'd watch Rovers B vs. Chelsea B if it was at the Mem with a potential trip to Wembley and a cup at stake.
Of course, there are no details yet of what exactly these new rules will be.

My boycott will continue.
Open one stand, play whatever team DC wants to and announce losses from being in the competition.
Cancel all Sky Sports subscriptions and tell the Premier League to do one! (I cancelled mine ages ago!).

However I'm fairly sure the PL won't be pumping in that money to play against Accrington Stanley U23/B.

It's a shame as I hate missing games.
