As one of 4/5 strikers in the squad he's a superb option to have.
Runs the channels, works his nuts off, holds it up well and better technically than given credit for imo.
Seems like a genuinely nice chap too and like he loves being here.

Sorry but I thought DC said we need to push on gaff lg2 at best imo He was the perfect strike partner for Taylor and if Taylor had stayed for the second half of the season we would have made the play offs and Rory would have played a massive part in that in my opinion. Without his striking partner he seemed a bit lost at times and I think that one of DCs biggest challenges is replacing Taylor with a similar player and if he can do that then Rory could be one of of best performers next season.

Those slant eyed ladies out there go wild for ginger haired Blokes, they will see Rory as a Trophy ,and will go to extroginary lengths to get him in the sack , I'm sure he'll be up for the task ahead.

Very pleased that Gaffers has signed. Just the sort of player DC likes and that we need IMO. Hard working, great attitude, unselfish, he's as strong as an ox and quick with it too.
Yes would like to see him put a few more in the back of the net but another season in L1 may help by allowing him to develop into a more prolific goal scorer.

Im very pleased with this news as i think hes been a very good player for us. 9 goals last season but not always playing, no reason he cant get more next season. im just hoping ellis signs his offer now.

I'd be happy if Ellis signed but ok if he left also. Scored some important goals but mostly frustrated me to be honest and I think Rory is a much better player overall.

I like both of them but sheff utd, millwall, bradford and southend clearly had better strikers imo and we need 2 good signings in that area. That said i believe ellis or rory could improve after their 1st ever season at league 1 level but the proof of the pudding etc

That's how I see it too , really happy with gaffers signing again , Ellis has always frustrated me also as when he is on his game he is a good player but unfortunately has too many games when it just doesn't pan out for him for one reason or another , I think a move away may turn out to be the best for both Ellis and ourselves. I'm glad I'm not the manager as I haven't got a bloody clue !

I'm glad I'm not the manager as I haven't got a bloody clue ! Yeah I think Rory is more likely to develop an understanding and partnership with any new strikers that join in the summer than Ellis would because like I've said he has a better understanding of the game and reads it better. Ellis always has and always will score some goals in the lower leagues but the majority of the time looks like an individual playing in a bubble with very little understanding about what's going on around him. I like Easter for these same reasons , he understands the game keeps the ball and brings people in to play. I think it's fair to say we've all missed Taylor's quality up front these last four months but I think if there's one player who has missed him the most it's Rory and that's because Taylor's movement was perfect for Rory to link up with because he's got the intelligence to work with a player of Taylor's quality, if I'm honest I like Ellis and will always be grateful for the goals but he hasn't got that.

Yep will always be grateful for Ellis's goals , some bloody important ones ! Not only that he seems a very nice lad , I remember one of the open days it was really hot and both my kids were waiting to get autographs and he overheard my daughter saying how thirsty she was , Ellis marched over with a bottle of orange and offered it to her , she was so star struck bless her she just went bright red took the drink and said thanks ! Top lad!

Pleased gaffers has signed albeit as a squad player. He needs to kick on next season, I really think the competition coming in will not only improve his game but raise it as well.

Two contract renewals on the same day, what's going on there?! So in 3 season of DC in charge, is it just Tom Parkes who has refused to stay? Monky. I think Balanta was offered something he didn't take up as well...not sure whether it was the length, salary or lack of likely game time that put him off.

Gaffney signing us as important as Bodin, O Clarke and Tom Lockyer. I seriously believe this will be Rory's season where he proves what a good footballer he is and he will score at least 15 goals, barring injury.

Bodin and gaffney struggled for form at the start of the season. Both returned and picked up. Bodin went on to have a great season, unfortunately Gaffney got injured as he hit his stride.
