Anyone have the time or inclination to help Rovers?
As a former committee member myself for about ten years, it is not a job for the faint hearted. Lots of time and effort devoted, not much thanks but it does truly help the club we all love.
There are always people who with the magic of hindsight say that "it should not have been done like that", or "I could do something much better" (Santa's Grotto or Fresher's Fayre) etc spring to mind, but now someone out there has the opportunity.
I think everyone can agree Chris did a fantastic job with the SC website. Remember the one or two new articles every fortnight that used to happen?. Perhaps a youngster with an interest in web sites/ media could help out? It could look good on a CV.
Not all the committee sell programmes/50/50 so if you can assist in any way, I would guess even in an "as and when" ad hoc capacity, that would be of some help.

I can only see the role of this great organisation being eroded over the next few seasons with the rise of the Owners taking full control of their investment

what's all this got to do with the owners.... surely the supporters club is an independent organisation run for and by fans, so it can be what it wants to be realistically if enough people support it?

surely that is down to the SC to evolve along with the football club Only if the owners let them The SC are supposed to be an independent organisation for the supporters.
Obviously over the years it has been closely linked to the FC and done a lot of invaluable work for the FC.
if the new owners don't require them to do certain things anymore then that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The SC could then refocus on different things.
As it stands the SC has been losing money on the P&L, so that needs to be addressed, especially now the asset has been sold

sorry for being dim but what is P&L??? Why not sign up to the accountancy degree course on here Paul, well worth doing and letters after your name at the end of it. For full details of how to sign up, just read any UWE or budget thread on here and you will be well on the way to a Masters degree. I find it fascinating on here and have achieved five degrees on here in the last two years alone. Gaschat offers far more than the state education system can offer, but is under serious threat from Corbyn plans for the country's children's future.

Has anyone come forward?
With no new blood and a "professionally" run FC with coach travel under their umbrella, I can see the days of loyal volunteers disappearing and the end of the SC.
Who knows in five years time at the UWE we can have paid "professional" (sic) programme sellers and no more 50/50 cos no one else can be bothered.
If/ when Wael leaves let's hope Vincent Tan doesn't try and take over. Asset strippers would only be interested when we actually have an asset and it would be quite easy to do with no one else on the board.

They would then have nothing to complain about.

Don't the Supporters Club still control 8% of the shares in BRFC?
I suspect that the role of the SC should be changing following the takeover - I would have thought that it would be an interesting position during the evolution of the Club.
