Hi Everyone,
I read the forum daily (slightly addicted) but never posted. This is a bit of a long shot but I've been living in Nairobi for the last two years and was wondering if there were any Rovers fans around East Africa? I sometimes wear my shirt around to see if anyone will recognise it so I can make a friend who likes the Gas (a bit like a beacon) but no hope yet! I've also given awy 4 of my old shirts to some local lads who wear them around my area and call me Bristol Rovers when I walk past which makes me smile.
Anyway, hopefully it's a nice thought to know Rovers are being represented in Kenya. Can't wait for next season!

My word, can't believe this popped up the day I get an approval to join this chat! I used to live in Kenya for a while, and got known as the one that supported Bristol Rovers amongst all sorts of Man U and Chelsea fans out there. Moved back just after we dropped out the league but what a turnaround whilst I've come back! Anyway, I thought you might find it interesting I have an 06/07 (promotion season) shirt I got in Nairobi market for absolute peanuts. Wow, small world 😊🇰🇪

All the stuff you put in Oxfam and that lot end up there. It's great!

Spent time in Kenya high altitude training, I can now eat a marathon bar in under a minute.

I used to live in Ethiopia about 20 years ago & my story was pretty much the same (but without the joy of the Internet). It's 1 part cool and 1 part very lonely being possibly the only Gashead in an entire country 😂🤔 There may even be a 1990 design Windows home top still there as I gave it to a local friend.
