It's not just the capacity or even number of seats. The place is a dump! You get soaked. The toilets are abysmal. It's old and cr4p. But it's home, for now. I'm sure many would not call it so bad, not when you remember Trumpton and it's always pi55 flooded bogs. I know I'm in the minority but it is our home right now and we are seeing improvements I think we will be at the mem awhile longer yet and the glorious glos road The Mem has certain advantages; it's close to a major bus route and a good number of pubs. The downside is that despite recent improvements it will always remain a disjointed stadium, unless it is completely rebuilt (something highly unlikely to happen) it will remain so. UWE or some other new stadium complex (including eating/drinking/entertainment establishments) is the only way the club can raise revenue to sustain itself going forwards (in my opinion) UTG

I feel we would get 12-14K if competive. I dread the thought of a big stadium that is full of empty spots

The centre of Bristol is awash with the places now, I feel with the parking difficulties the current Mayor wouldn't entertain the idea. UTG

To anyone who says a new stadium wont increase attendances just have a look at Brightons average attendances; european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/bha.htmThey had a jump from 7k to 20k between 2011 and 2012 and increased ever since. Guess when the new stadium opened? They are only a few thousand off sellouts for 2016-17, all in the space on 5-6 years.

If you look at the historical stats Brighton were getting 18K average attendances in the 80's, we've never had similar attendances since the late 50's. I just wonder if we will just double our long term average attendances just by building a new stadium, or is aiming for 15K a more realistic target? Although looking at Swansea's and Reading's historical attendances they are similar to Brighton's post their new stadiums and they've always had similar attendances to us in the past but they are both one club towns.

It may be but its our home and I love it , I also loved Eastville and Twerton would rather have a good old fashioned ground like those with a great atmosphere than some of the plastic palaces that are going up now , just hope we get the final plans correct and we have a stadium with atmosphere
By the way the new ground
One End called Eastville - with the Tote end in it Opposite end called Twerton One side called The memorial and the fourth open for discussion
Denis Dunford Stand Tote End Popular Side Blackthorn End I would extend this to the conference facilities too, al Qadi suite, Ray Kendall restaurant, and most importantly of all, the Jon Paul Pittman (over the) bar. The Hand Stand The last stand. The Bell End. The Ledge End .

Admittedly seats look worse empty.

Although looking at Swansea's and Reading's historical attendances they are similar to Brighton's post their new stadiums and they've always had similar attendances to us in the past but they are both one club towns. That's because that was Brightons most successful point in their history, until now. Brightons crowds apart from that have been on a par with ours or smaller throughout their history. They also played outside of Brighton for a bit and played at a small crap ground not fit for purpose for over a decade, similarly to us. Swansea and Reading are one club towns but our crowds were always bigger than Swanseas even when we played at Twerton and I'm pretty sure even without looking at the attendance statistics were bigger than Readings at Eastville. Bristol is twice the size of Swansea and at least has a population of 150,000 more than Reading. I am positive that with the same kind of progress as Reading, Brighton and Swansea have achieved over the last 10-15 years that Rovers could also attract regular crowds of 15-20k in a new stadium too.
