I still have an interest in the Premier League so for me it’s almost a ritual and something that makes my Saturday nights. Not just the in depth highlights and analysis but the punditry as well. The problem is BBC are damned if they do and damned if they don’t. Not everyone will agree with the outcome as it is but again not everyone would agree had this outcome not arrived. Freedom of speech is a thing of the past in this country. I know In my job my contract specifically says to avoid political debate and this is a prime example of why this is in many ‘ordinary peoples contracts now. Going back out Joey mentioned the holocaust in his summary after a match. Now an idol in Gary Lineker does the same and there’s and outcry of support for him. Was there this support when Joey mentioned it? Think we all know the answer there. Probably because Lineker didn't say anything about the Holocaust. He compared the language being used by the Government to the language being used in the 1930s. Very different from comparing losing a football match to the extermination of millions don't you agree? [b I absolutely agree with you. The point I’m making is people have been offended by what was said. All this is forgotten because it’s Gary Lineker. I like the bloke myself and I wasn’t offended by what was said but that doesn’t mean others weren’t offended. People will back him and that’s fine as everyone has their own opinions but in circumstances like this I believe he should have been more cautious. He’s taken refugees into his own home so has as much of a right to comment as anyone. I just think the extra point he made was a tad unnecessary and may have brought back some painful memories for their family members. This is obviously my opinion and people will disagree which is kind of the point of a forum to spark RESPECTFUL debate.

Takes him until the end of next season Excellent news. Is there anyone else we need to look to tie down? Off the top of my head that’s Evans, Collins, Hoole, Finley, Connolly, Belshaw who have signed deals all from last year’s promotion winning team. Coutts/Whelan are not applicable, Grant too injury prone to consider at the moment. Anyone else I’ve forgotten? Harry Anderson?

Everyone just calm down and think for a second! We are where we are because of Darrell and that’s in league 1, two divisions higher than when he started his first full season in charge. Darrell is as passionate as us about OUR club and I have full faith in him. We must stick by him, when his opportunity came to move on to bigger and better things what did he do? He stuck by us, fans from all over say “there’s no loyalty in football anymore” well he’s proven there is so for goodness sakes let’s show some back. We always get knocked out the cup by lower league teams and we always bounce back and pick ourselves up in the league following this. Look at Plymouth last season rick bottom at this time and ended up almost getting in the playoffs. My point is Darrell deserves our support and if nothing has changed by January then that might change, but please Lets all stand by our leader. Crickey you sound like tammy winett If I said what you sound like then I’d get banned from the forum 😉

I’m sorry but you can’t blame the board for this. There’s only one person and it pains me to say it but it’s Darrell. He’s in charge of recruitment (which we did in the summer) he’s in charge of picking the team (Nichols should be loaned out to the conference and sold on in January) and he’s in charge of coaching Uh Tommy Widdrington? Who would want to take Nichols on loan? Who sold Taylor to city for peanuts? Who sold Bodin for next to nothing? Who sold Harrison? Bennett doesn’t look the same player! Sercombe doesn’t look the same player! There is more than meets the eye going on at this football club. We don’t even know who’s in charge ffs. Is it Wael? Is it Hani? Are the whole family in this together? If this was your job and your bosses had treated you the way DC has been treated, would you trust them? Would you want to continue working for them? Would your morale have slowly been torn out of you? I believe he’s attached to Bristol Rovers. I believe his heart is in it far more than any of the Al Wadis. I believe he wants to succeed but is being held back by certain people at the club. I believe he is constantly being undermined by people at this club. This is his livelihood, this is his career he’s putting on the line at this moment in time and I for one will be giving him my support! So since the Al Qadi family arrived what had been achieved? We arguably were on our way to getting promotion when they took over, they just lied to the fans who at that time I believe pushed our club to promotion with the enthusiasm and what now turns out to be false hope that this club would finally reach its potential. All that’s actually happened is we’ve gone backwards. No stadium No training ground Is our squad even as good as the one that got us promoted to league 1? Broken promises left, right and centre. The Al Qadis, Hamer etc, we’ll thats a far different story. Wael and co, I’ve booked you one way tickets to return to Jordan please take them ( they cost a lot of money) and don’t f**king come back!

Just a thought, but two promotions in the basement divisions and mediocre survival in league one.
DC gave us our Rovers back and god bless him for that, but has he reached his limit?, maybe this is as good as he get's?
You could argue he has been let down by those in Box 1 - maybe?
i.e. No Stadium/Training Ground etc etc etc ……...
And yet again, something is wrong at our much loved and long suffering club.
Thoughts - for a honest question
[But who knows a win tonight and again next Saturday and everything could change - 'shout it loud' - I believe .. or not] I don’t think it’s DC that has reached his limit, I think it’s Rovers who have reached theirs. This league isn’t like it once was, we now have big clubs in this division every year, whether it’s been; Leeds, Sunderland, Blackburn, Southampton whoever it is they all have huge fan bases, but more importantly huge income compared to us. Whether it’s being pumped in by the owners or generated through their match day/ non match day experiences. Look at Peterborough, Fleetwood for example, Rovers do not have a cat in hells chance of competing with these clubs regardless of fan base, like DC said, we are 30 years behind these clubs and that is the reason imo anyway that we have found our level. We really were spoilt with back-to-back promotions and now some fans are thinking it’s the norm for us to fly through the leagues.

Well I bought a ticket last Thursday, and was looking forward to going, but after Saturdays performance I am stuggling to think why it's a good idea to go and see them at QPR given the journey and the expense, plus as we all know DC doesn't take cups too seriously. God knows what the team will be. I suppose Lines is back, Lockyer out, Walker out, Sercombe out, plus all the ones that have been injured for a while. So do I go and splash the cash, or do I stay at home in the warm with a mug of tea listening to the radio Yeah I’ve heard Lambert, Elliott and Pipe are all out too. sh**! Wrong decade. Stop living the the past Boyo

Must be a 4-5-1 with J Clarke/ Craig at left back, Rodders and Bennett on the wings? Wow in that case then are we sure we are not playing a top team this is Crawley isn't it and not Chelsea by any chance Or you could look at it as a 4-3-3 with bennet/ Rodman as inside forward kind of positions, with our midfield options we need to play 3 in the centre really, it’s the strongest area of our squad.

Fantastic argument. Why don't we spend all our budget on fixing the defence, who needs strikers? After all I quite like the thought of a 5-5-0 formation. Before harrison left the manager had made his decisions to strengthen the midfield, replace lee brown and bring in gavin reilly. So he spent his budget as he wanted and decided the centre-backs were fit to go. With harrison gone he has to replace him with whatever percentage of the fee he is allowed. So back to my original point which is if the defence struggles again this season then it will come back to the managers decision to strengthen other areas. Ok so I'll put it this way. Atleast we have enough defenders to play, they may not be performing to the best of their ability at the moment but hopefully they'll be doing a lot of work on the training ground to put that right. You can work on defensive work, organisation, communication etc, quite often with a striker you've either got it or you haven't. I believe you cannot teach finishing ability you either have it or you don't. Movement, vision etc I think can be coached into players. "get yer *ing head up Tom" On the other hand we have 2 strikers, one of which I'm not even going to talk about and the other is unproven at this level. If you can't score goals you're not going to win games, I understand what you're saying but atleast it can be worked on without spending huge amounts of money. Whereas the striker situation is different, it is essential that we bring in a goal scorer.

I'd be very surprised if we could have afforded the wages for him. The team who have agreed the fee average the same home attendances as us. Suppose their owners may actually put some money into the playing budget though It's not that simple though is it? They probably have better facilities than us, which Is generating a much larger income than ours. It's obvious we're in a fair amount of debt too! Honestly attendances don't really count for too much nowadays if owners are/ are not in our case prepared to pump money into the playing squad there's not a lot we can do about it.

Regarding craig and the back four in general if we concede lots of goals this season again the blame will be all darrell clarkes imo. Hes signed several players and is trying to sign a striker but it seems hes made a decision to stay with the centre-backs already at the club. If they struggle he wont be able to shift the blame elsewhere imo. Fantastic argument. Why don't we spend all our budget on fixing the defence, who needs strikers? After all I quite like the thought of a 5-5-0 formation.

If DC is that unhappy he can follow Gary Bowyer's decision (to leave Blackpool) but I think it's his way of venting his frustration. That said considering the number of people at the club behind the scenes you would have thought someone would have commented on what's going on, why don't the Evening Post and Radio Bristol demand answers instead of just repeating everything they find on here? Tbf radio Bristol and the BEP can't really demand answers can they? What do you expect them to do, tie up Hamer and hold the whole Al-Qadi family hostage until they give us answers?

Right what is happening? I'm still waiting for someone from the club to come out and either confirm the signing of Bakayoko or say look guys we thought the deal was done but unfortunately due to a last minute bid from another club, it now appears to be off. Not that difficult is it? You expect the club to communicate? Are you on drugs? It's just water poor tbh, I'm not one to normally moan but come on...after all we are the customers, we are the fans, without us there would be no Bristol Rovers!

Up until last season Ellis wasn't exactly firing in all cylinders. This guy has a bit of pace, if DC and Stewy can get him working hard for the team chasing back and getting himself in great position in front if goal then we have done well. We need someone with pace and some strength up front goals will come with right service. A good signing. Well done DC. Now an experience player on loan in the mould of St!thead Arran Wilbraham and I think DC has all the tools for this league. Ban! How dare you mentioning an ex s***head and a player in his late thirties signing for Rovers!
