Nothing to say, so what do you actually want them to say? Could at least be civil. Could at least TRY to give a reason why under the ownership nothing has really moved on in terms of trg ground or football stadium. Could at least TRY to explain why under the ownership Holtby, Brookman and Screen Soccer have been forced out, plus Hamer and masters, why the club are obsessed with making as much money as possible, and are not interested in utilising several supporter led initiatives; in fact is actively shutting them out.

So embarrassing and mocking interview. What was the point of going on the radio to say no comment to everything and laugh at the end Sadly that is how a lot of companies are run. Especially when one entity controls 92% of it. Say what you like about the previous, more complex, ownership, (higgs, dunford, Bradshaw etc) it did create a level of checks and balances, re power.

Well that was poor - no, water poor!! We have wasted a great opportunity to get some money into the coffers, a Wembley appearance could have got us a decent signing in the summer. I am still in the camp of supporting the manager, but only just. He needs to move on from talking a good game & finding positives to actually getting results & IMO tonight’s result lays solely at his door, and I hope he puts his hands up & admits he got it wrong & apart from unloading one or two after that, there is no positives whatsoever. Obviously Nichols has played his last game & I would have thought Bennett & Adeboyejo have too, but all the uncertainty is not helping with a new system, if we can call it that. We can forget any dreams of a play off if this continues. Not true re money. This competition makes no money at all until at least area final and even then it would depend on meeting the right team at the right time. Getting to national final is still a relatively long shot. Only a 1 in 24 chance. FA cup is where the money is. We've earnt a lot from that and it is worth prioritising. This is a good stage to leave this cup.

Club has excelled themselves with this announcement, the majority of the place names and collection points are misspelt. Well done commercial department Take a guess why that might be?

Maybe this indecision about parts of the ground not be opened is because Starnes is away on holiday, went last week not back until the weekend. Staff at the club not happy, taking a lot of stick from frustrated people. Life of reilly for Starnes, who's in charge there now. Where's he gone the North/South Pole as surely he's contactable? If you create a dictatorship you get... er...

This must have been the game prior to the 5th round meeting away at Barnsley in 1999? Where we were easily dispatched. I recall beating an Orient side in the previous rounds at The Mem by 2 or 3? This is one for the historians amongst us. yes it was. It was the 4th Round in Jan 1999. 3-0. I wrote the following earlier in thread... Yes, I was there as well (or not as the case was!). 1999. Fourth round. I'd dragged a friend over from Birmingham. Parking was hard. We wandered up to the ground (not even via a pub) & absolutely gobsmacked to be told it was full. Zero idea that that might happen. Official att given as 9274. Previous home crowds had been circa 5,500. Even Burnley had only been 7100. The next home game after was 6200. Weird. Just stood there for a while in North East corner where you could see some of the pitch & then later wandered off back to bloody car.

Which means around 1800 which is away terrace plus some of South stand, thus proving that that possible excuse is a misnomer. Don't have a problem with the club doing things like this for very small crowds but 3rd round of FA cup against an historical 'big' team with big support and who are actually our 3rd closest away trip (ok, maybe we aren't quite their 3rd closest away trip, but it is an easy & tempting journey on a sunday with a £10 ticket price). Just not worth messing ST holders around for. It isn't. (BTW - not a ST holder / doesn't effect me so no bias there). Away terrace is 850 and all south stand is 950. 1,800 in total I believe the away terrace is more than that. I'm sure before (e.g. Alfreton and D&R games where we kept the away terrace for us) it was circa 1,100.

There's no way ollie is investing in Grimsby Town football club 🤣🤣🤣 it's a strange move for him and family if they all choose to relocate to the area but I cant see they will. I dont see it being Ollie's last job not at all and personally I can see him having one more go as manager at the Gas in 24 months time if we/hopefully get new owners! This bit on the GTFC website is particularly strange / bizarre / worrying, especially just after he moved back to our area and spend loads doing up the house (near me, in Box) - “Ian and Kim have committed to selling up and moving into the area, seeing Grimsby as a long-term project. He will also acquire shares in the club and will commit to attending full board meetings.” I love a bit of positivity but I seriously feel this will fall as flat as a pancake.

Which manager would you back the most to succeed this season? None of them TBH. All are pretty hard jobs in a competitive league with some teams above them who are running along quite nicely.

As much as BG has on a vision of playing which by his words is passing and playing in the opposition's half, I just cant see this group of players being able to play keep ball. Theres a few good eggs in the team but a lot of rotten ones and it will take 2 windows for home to get the style of players playing that way. I don't think there are any rotten eggs in our squad. That wouldn't have been allowed by Coughlin, and this appears to be one of the tightest squads we've had, especially in this Internet age when everyone knows if someone farts. we might have a few less gifted players who are unsuited to a fast, on the grass passing game. But rotten eggs? I don't think so. Exactly. Hopefully was just a poor choice of words by the OP. I suspect we can agree that this current set up (I mean GC tactics & squad really) may take a while to transform, and so it should. BG can hardly do that much wrong really given the league position he's inherited and money from cup games... Unless he tries to change a lot pretty soon, which I think (hope) he won't be.

Sympathy for Joey Barton? Never in a million years. Charging onto the pitch to confront the referee about a (correct) decision and not letting it go for a good 5mins after, The fool deserves everything he gets. Woosh...

Didn't the club decide Rogvi Baldvinson just was not good enough, must have played one friendly for us. The reason he gave for leaving was that he couldn't 'settle' in the area, that's what I read anyhow. There was also withdrawal symptoms from that snuff stuff.

Your attitude, and I'm not saying you're wrong, sums up what the FA Cup means nowadays. There was a time where teams in L1 and L2 would throw everything at the 3rd round of the cup in the hope of a big tie next round, and also just because it was the 3rd round. Closing sections of the ground would have been absolutely unthinkable. Sad how little it all means now. I can remember v Leyton Oreint about 15 plus years ago being locked out the ground. Around 150 fans were held back in car park by Police and was informed they shut the ground due to overcrowding. I am sure it was round 3 or 4 and in the end we all left and went back down glou rd... Yes, I was there as well (or not as the case was!). 1999. Fourth round. I'd dragged a friend over from Birmingham. Parking was hard. Isn’t there some sort of FA rule in the fa cup that the home side has to offer 25% of stadium capacity to away fans. Maybe the club wanted to see how many away tickets were sold before opening further parts of the ground. If cov request full allocation then we would have to offer 3k tickets. That’s the away terrace, south stand and southwest stand. In that case surely the whole ground would be open It’s 15% Which means around 1800 which is away terrace plus some of South stand, thus proving that that possible excuse is a misnomer. Only single stand seats left, but South West and South stand not open ? Are they likely to open ? Seems to me we don't want to make money ........ Nonsensical, along with the closure of the West Terrace...and the decision not to open the club shop after Christmas until 2nd January! All those kids (and big kids!) with Christmas money burning a hole in their pockets and we don't bother to open the shop. No wonder they end up elsewhere. Steady on, we have commercial genius in our ranks you know. And now that horrible Hamer has gone it'll be like utopia because it was him who was doing all the weird stuff. 👍👍

It's clearly a tiny little competition against some club with little cup pedigree or away following, why the hell would we open the whole of our massive 12,000 capacity ground for a first round Muppet cup game?
Er, asking for a friend.

3-4-2-1 Terry Venables Xmas tree formation according to R Bristol. No chance BBCRB are correct - no support whatsoever for JCH!! To the extent that he's throwing his arms about in a huff etc. Maybe but JCH does that all the time.

Did a good job winning the league two playoffs 17 years ago. To my eternal shame when mark McGhee came to us out of left field I zipped into Wikipedia and thought wow what a record. 3 promos. I knew him as a player of course but not much about him as a manager. What I didn't fully appreciate was that they were quite a while ago, that the world moves on (and he hadn't...), and that he'd been up in Scotland quite a while and really, genuinely just didn't know much about current players south of the border. It was a really important lesson for me.

Tonnes of praise (rightly so) for JCH and Jaakola 24/7 but Rodman is a bit of an unsung hero for me so thought he deserves a thread of praise. Tough start to his Gas career and missed a lot of games last season due to (supposed) personal issues but what a great turnaround this year. Consummate professional, converting successfully to a solid wing-back and not to mention his superb match-winning header midweek. Another great performance today v a strong Peterborough attack. Well done Al, keep it up! Good idea for a thread. LBH, we all knew that Rodman was potentially a really good player. His track record is good and he's a very athletic player, and has height that a lot of forwards don't have (which can be utilised, like Ellis was). Really good to see him playing well. As someone else mentioned a lot of DC signings were clearly not bad players, but for various reasons it didn't quite work at times. Sadly there is a lot of black and white thinking on here; JCH = amazing, GC is a genius, Rodman has been poor = DC wasting wages, Nicholls is worst gas player ever seen, Craig is old and slow, etc
