It's so hard making predictions and many of us do it with so much reluctance because we've been bitten on the backside for thinking we're a big fish in a small pond on a couple of occasions before now. You'd really like to think that's the case now, but I think even thinking it now makes some nervy. As said before, a solid start is what we need (minimum). Good displays and hopefully a few points from Grimsby, Barnet and altrincham. Morale boosting victory at home to Telford to take us into the Monday game at fgr should hopefully see us top 7 or so. By mid September we'll have got a few of the ex-league clubs out the way and we'll have a run of the likes of the alfretons and nuneatons of the division which look winnable (on paper!)

All the best Smudger. Gutted he's gone but inevitable given our position. Simply too good for us now. Strange how all these players are now too good for us. To be fair to Smith be is. But frustrating to see so many ex players playing 1 or 2 leagues above us. Shows we had enough talent there I think, just players with the wrong attitudes. I wouldn't go so far as to say all these players are now too good for us. Smith was a cut above in both his ability and application.

Yes, beat Quartermaster. In your face loser! Just saying. Thanks Dave. And I'd started so well! I feel a bit dirty as I seem to have finished in the Wycombe position in the table...

Wow, what are the chances of that typo.... Must admit I had to look up the definition. Me too actually! A word you hear but I wasn't 100% sure of it's meaning. What chance it originated from someone equally unsure? Probably not I guess as all OS articles are written by professionals and then proof-read at least twice......

It does say "these pages show many of our proposals..." rather than "our many proposals" so perhaps not an exhaustive list? Can't see why it wouldn't be though....

I hear he has signed his new contract. Anyone else confirm this? Thanks QM. Don't thank me, thank my employer for letting me hit refresh on the OS at will!

I have asked two different people who work for BRFC and both have said it is complete nonsense. But if you know something different, then post it up here with their source. But it doesn't always work like that, it's not always the employees who hear the rumours before the decision is announced. Just yesterday my line manager referred to "a meeting to discuss something he couldn't tell me about yet" where I work. I know something is happening and I'll find out as and when. I'm sure if I didn't work there but knew the management team I'd pick up a bit of gossip though...

No reason at all to suggest this forum is the cause if any fanbase split IMO. If there is a split (and remember we'd only be talking between online fans and not all fans) then it happened when the IF was created (not getting into who's responsible for that!). I use both forums for info but only post here because it has a better feel about it (more positive). That said its horses for courses and the feel of the IF suits others better.

You can build a team anytime. We will not get another chance to build a stadium that will secure our future again in my lifetime. Well said. I've never understood the thinking of those who believe we should forget the stadium plans now we're out of the league so that we can concentrate on the team. If we don't build the UWE I can't see another opportunity coming up any time soon and I believe it's integral to our future progress.

I've had to go for mid table. So many seasons of falling horribly short I feel that I'm just waiting to be let down again. The heart says we should make the play offs but I fear another inconsistent season where we just can't get a run going like all the other recent seasons and end up perhaps 10th.
That said, I'm hoping I have good reason to upgrade my prediction by Christmas!

A nice payout would be just what we need to buy a few nice players maybe this is the idea? I think a nice payout is exactly the idea here. We're just following the age old principle of "ask for more than you than you'd be happy with", much more likely to get an outcome you're genuinely pleased with. Sadly this will be lost on the average fans of other clubs around the country who see us as poor losers crying over our relegation and trying to wriggle out of it. Damage is done there I'm afraid.
