I put channel 872 on and my daughter walked and shouted "DAD!!!" so cheers for that. Could have been worse, she could have caught you browsing the Teds' YouTube channel!

Ooh how exciting, I don't know if I can contain myself! I might have to quickly bash one off! Please let it be a striker? Not sure what position. But another signing justifies bashing one out haha. I'd say if it's a signing from a premier league club then you're probably justified in bashing one out in whatever your favourite position is. No need to ask for permission on here!

I think we've made a few solid signings in Sercombe and the 2 keepers, but I seem to recall DC making a comment along the lines of us needing to sign players of a different calibre if we're to make progress to the next level a month or two ago. As I said, they look like solid signings, but are they a whole new calibre of player? I'm not quite at panic stations yet, but it'll be interesting to see what our squad looks like when the transfer window slams shut. Is the budget not really there? Are we being beaten to our no.1 targets? Are we just impatient and the season loans from Arsenal/Chelsea are on their way?!!

Reminds me of the time I bumped into Joe Jordan at the queue for the face painting at the local village day a few years back. We were chatting quite amicably about this and that and he said he was going to ask for a tiger to be painted on his face. When he wasn't looking, I slipped the woman a fiver to paint a set of blue and white quarters on his face and "I love the Gas" across his forehead. He cried so much it made the paint run! Oh how we laughed. We then walked back to our cars and he saw the Gas on Tour bumper sticker on the back of my Ford Capri and he could take no more. Why are the Gas so superior to the 82ers he cried. Why?!!

Billy Bob has lots of suitors-think he'll be off. Just read somewhere on Facebook that qpr, Brentford and those across the river who don't like us but want to be us are very interested...

f**k me, if the season doesn't start soon there will be no one left on the forum! Lots of twisted knickers on here these days. What's wrong with everyone? We've just had the best season we have had in 20 years ffs! Relax everyone, and be a bit nicer to each other. Get bent Not the thread for suggested summer signings surely. And anyway, Junior retired years ago!

If we sign him, perhaps we could pretend to really like him and then the Teds would come and sign him! They do have history buying up our strikers!

Does anyone know the deadline for purchasing your current seat for next season (ie the date from which it becomes available to anyone). The OS says prices rise on 12th May, is this the same date that the seats become available again? Ta in advance! Seats are reserved until 30 June I understand, so available to the riff-raff like me from 1 July. I'll stick with the West Enclosure I think! BTW how does the "Bring a Friend" voucher work for seat holders if no seats are available? Bring a Friend and let him/her stand up somewhere else? Thanks for that. Good to know I have a bit longer! Not sure how the bring a friend thing works. Whenever I've tried to buy extra South Stand tickets for odd games it's been a nightmare. There's obviously a restriction on capacity in there as there are often spare seats on match day, but nothing available to buy beforehand! That or South Stand ST holders just go in the west enclosure!

Even Hugo the Younger doesn't want it. He only goes because Quartermaster has a nicer car than me. And a nicer house. And better clothes. And personality. FML. Material items pale into insignificance when you have the ability to deploy a blanket which wields such power at just the right minute during the match. Never underestimate such power! We all know why HTY and the rest of us flock to the South Stand and it isn't a love of canvas roofing!

Have read the Evening post story and for the life of me can not see why the club legal team would contact the Chimp. What the club need to do is contact all their supporters ASAP and tell us what is going on. As far as I am concerned they have had plenty of time to reach a deal with UWE. Any further delay will just encourage more rumour mongering and I would suggest gasheads have been very patient over this issue and deserve an honest update on the present state of play. Bang on Bideford. More than a year is plenty of time to sort this out. It's hard not to think that the current owners are stringing us along treating us like mugs no better than Higgs did. An update is needed, and an honest one at that! I thought these owners were progressive. I'm all for evolution not revolution but at the pace these guys are moving it will be many month before they even speak to us again and probably many years before there is any movement on a fit for purpose stadium. That's if they are still here for much longer of course! Evolution not revolution is the perfect motto for our club. Evolution began with the origin of life millions of years ago and continues to this day. Everything suggests it will carry on millions of years into the future. I see many parallels to the UWE timeline.

Yep 3 points above relegation is incredibly better than relegated (even Sh1!heads understand that). Surely if DC wasn't responsible for relegation then neither was Dave Penny (sorry I know you struggle to logically form an argument)? Nick Higgs was responsible for our eventual relegation. He should have backed Penny when he attempted to change the culture of players at the club. A mistake he did not repeat when he decided to back DC when he did the same thing following relegation. While I believe JW would have kept us up, I don't blame DC for taking us down. I do not think the club culture would have changed had we not been relegated. I think a lot of things we did not want to face were forced on us. Contracts, the sense of entitlement, failure to look at players on the way up, not Billy big bollox looking for a pay day. It also galvanized and united the fan base massively which again played a big part in our success. Finally, winning becomes a habit. Clearly, facing a lower quality of opposition week in week out also helps build momentum and allows the team to gain confidence. I think relegation was the making of the club. I think it was too and don't subscribe to the notion that relegation is always a bad thing and no club needs it. Interesting to know however why we were one of the rare cases of clubs who actually benefitted from it. The likes of Torquay, York, Wrexham and many others have had no such "luck". Why did we fare so well? DC? Fan base? Better resources? Or just plain luck?!

I'm fairly confident they'll have another miserable season in the championship next year. They are just prolonging the inevitable really so I don't mind - drags out the suffering until they eventually get relegated I think Rotherham scraped survival last year - so would be good if the Teds had a follow-up season like them... Don't suppose Tap-in will stick around and that just leaves 47 year old Wilbraham and a snake up front for them. Don't forget tap-in Tammy "loves this club" according to the Bristol Post. I guess we'll see how much he loves them in the summer given that apparently there's at least one other more successful championship club interested in his signature!
