Direct quote from Dan at the BP: “ Bristol Rovers are closing in on a deal to sign midfielder Kamil Conteh from Grimsby Town, Bristol Live understands, after the Gas met the 21-year-old's release clause which could lead to a club record deal for the League One club should an agreement be finalised. Negotiations between the two clubs are believed to be in the final stages while personal terms aren't expected to be an issue.” This is either absolute bollocks and the BP are just guessing or Conteh definitely isn’t coming here as ‘personal terms’ were to be an issue. Clearly Dan must have some indication that we’d met the release clause. Undergoing or imminently about to undergo a medical. 👍🏻 Knowing this lots form it will be on the NHS, another deadline missed !

We’ve got our own Massimo who turned up and made a mess of Leeds. Everyone at the club knows it was Abdullatif who pulled the plug on the JCH deal, I was told this by an employee of Peterborough as well. 11th December I said the owners son had stopped hotel accommodation for the Crewe away game and our management was upset……….prior to this I said we had no one to take training because Mangs and Whelan had walked out, Whelan did first. Abdullatif offered Robinson, Monk and promised Mangs the job, the latter is why Whelan downed tools, false promises. Finely comes out publicly to the media and says the manager needs help with his own team. Matt Taylor had to beg and move heaven and earth to get Jamie McAllister in, he’s cheap as well! No Head of Media at the club, cut back on this wage. We’ve interviewed people from Div1 and 2 clubs, messed one individual around, we are talking proper minimum wage stuff and he said no! Businesses asked to move to 90 days credit account terms, I know this for a fact. I knew this when I left the forum, I am glad Gasehead81 has exposed this now on the Chris Martin thread. Chris Martin protected himself last night, he has a wife and young family. Let’s not blame Gorringe again, he’s now a glorified PA. Matt Taylor said he thought the deal was done, he’d have asked about Martin on Monday when preparing his side. Let’s not kid ourselves, he knows what is going on. That was a professional subtle dig last night, remember how DC did it, same situation. Everything at the club, a pot of Nescafé or a new door handle has to be signed off by this new regime. Bridgwater Gas will come on and say I’m making it up again, Radio Bristol and Dan Hargreaves also know what is going on. I hope the media start to do their jobs properly, when statements are made about us going to the Premiership, simple questions need to be asked like, how? targets years? …………….”we may spend a little this window” on the way off his Premiership statement, alarm bells then. 24th Jan, nothing, manager publicly admitting he doesn’t know what is going on, we’ve got our own Cellino running the club now. (4 players left us as well this window) BTW, banter/abuse about me posting again, don’t waste your energy, I just want Abdullatif Al Saeed to feel some pressure and to start running this club properly. Conteh was just about to sign, again his Cellino style has let in Ipswich, Blackpool and Peterborough now, we had the deal done. At last there are those that know and are prepared to speak ! Aside from the facts above ,these people have done nothing but wreak chaos since they have been here. 1.JCH fiasco Late my 8rse . JB,EJ,Wael et al probably signed 30 players in their tenure all would have been fully aware of protocols ,timescales and pitfalls. 2.Sacked a manager with no idea who to employ and it took a ridiculous amount of time to find his replacement. 3.Immediately pulled out of the FM which they were alledgedly involved in beforebuying in. 4.Proposed carve up of the quarters, which leads me to my next point. Would be interested if someone could locate the first interview with Radio Bristol and tell me how many times he mentions football and how many times he mentions Real Estate. We now have a manager who is being put into an embarrasing position of trying to tell us in code there is no money ,if there is it won't be spent on football Nothing about them suggests they have any knowledge of football, esp at this level and had probably never heard of Bristol Rovers , which begs the question why us ?

There you have it. End of potential top 8 finish. All about how close to 9th we can finish now. Hunt must go asap. Hoole...again is not ready for any type of CB role for a good few years yet. Grant shows why he is such a useful player worth having...but never a first choice in any role. We need to be planning for next season now. Out the door. Hunt Wilson Friend Gordon Crama Cox Vale ( unless he is available to sign perm) Sinclair Possible outs McCormick Marquis Martin Brown Connolly Hoole Ward Only Definite keeps Finley Collins Taylor Evans J Ward Thomas ?

Has anyone considered with all the names linked to us since JB departed that some may have been interviewed and declined.
1. Salary may not be comensurate with the position or/and 2.The playing budget going forward may be cut or not enough
Just asking

They changed the rules since then didn't they?? I thought they can just take them for small compensation, if they have a better graded academy etc Hypothetical question ,Using the chart, If the player only plays say 60 times for Liverpool and then Aston Villa buy him do they no longer have to pay per appearance ?

Eustace would be great. My Birmingham city friends were gutted he was sacked. Especially to bring in Rooney. I can't see why Eustice would even consider the Rovers job, when he's proven he can manage in the Championship. I agree Topper, though my flight of fantasy was based on : Monks - Has done the job Eustace - Was doing the job Duff - Is doing the job But will possibly end up being someone completly random !

I think tellingly the opposition commentators on iFollow all say how good a team we are, they seem to really rate our play 👍🏾 Oh brilliant the commentators from Dorks Utd rate our play that’s fantastic news, when’s the promotion party? In fairness I think they are right, we are a good team and squad, play good football. Problem is consistency ,we don't have any at present and that falls under the remit of JB.

The lack of communication is a bit of a worry, even Wael has gone to ground a bit and we know TG’s interview was scrapped. They will have to speak to us soon if results don’t change, Evans would love to beat us and then we come to Cobblers and their manager who won’t need to do a team talk after the 7-0 last game of the season. Some on here are right to be fair, he deserves the next two home games but even though we are not allowed to mention last seasons form, it reminds me of the Trolls 5-0 at Orient that night. I knew that evening he had run out of ideas whilst his senior pros were not what they used to be, Campbell etc and he relied on them so much. Barton is like this with Coutts and Finley, the latter can’t do it anymore and the new ones don’t work to his ways. Barton spoke pragmatic and honest after the game, he couldn’t blame a Luke Thomas, even with the red we were already losing. He came across deflated, that’s Bonner, Ferguson, Manning and Maamria who have tactically outsmarted him, I think he’s ran out of ideas. I think a Cogs/Warnock/Wilder would make us hard to beat straight away, would play on winning the second ball more (not possession based football) and ask the likes of Finely to press for the ball. He’s ran out of ideas because he won’t change his principles, Bonner and Maamria were happy for us to have possession, Rodman kept saying that Burton only had 2 shots, same as Cambridge, they scout us and execute their tactics brilliantly. This side is a DC side when he left and Cogs came in, Martin is your focal point, you change our style of play, make us hard to beat and we win more, a new guy gets more out of this lot. We are obsessed with playing from the back Pep style, but we don’t have wingers or driving midfielders to break the lines. Do our fans not realise what the opposition are doing to us away from home, don’t they see theirs and our tactics? At Oxford, same again, we should have been winning, we left the back door open, Bodin scores, we are not hard to beat and once we go behind we are easy to finish off. Paul, my concerns are do our new owners have a good knowledge of football in this country at this level , or will they be guided in appointing a new manager by the CEO ? heavens forbid !!

Fanboy, where did I say useless DOF? I questioned them and we sold Loft as well. Let’s say we signed JCH, we’d only have him and Marquis, do you think on a £4.5 million budget (Barton said you need this for top 6) we should have have 2 strikers, where is the balance of the budget? We have two CB’s injured, Wilson and Crama, it’s easy to get two strikers injured, it could be Martin next week. Also you might want to play two up front in one game, where is the sub to take one off? Trolls had 5 on his list, Dunford went in the car on got the 5th choice one. It should have been two strikers with Loft going as well and one with pace. Squad imbalance is terrible for our budget, someone neglected the strikeforce As a point of interest , Loft has only played one league game, out injured since . Potentially worse if he stayed because its unlikely we would have signed Martin

OK. On page 152 pirate says "Liz Elsom spoke on the podcast confirming that Rovers' request for a 15-minute extension was lodged at 11:01 and the transfer itself at 11:17, meaning that the club missed out." That contradicts your assertion that we "didn't request an extension of 15 mins" so I therefore contend that we do not know who is telling the truth. This is why this thread will continue ad infinitum. Are you really such a pedant. The deadline was 11pm. We lodged for an extension after the deadline. We didn't even meet the deadline to extend the deadline to lodge the paperwork. With respect to all concerned Clubs cannot request an extension ,not in the context that has been suggested by peterborough. "Clubs can legally circumvent the 11pm deadline by providing their league with a deal sheet up to two hours before the window closes. This acts as a one-off extension for the buying club, affording them additional time to fill out the details required in FIFA’s Transfer Matching System, which cross-references details of any international transfer to ensure figures and fees are identical on both the selling and purchasing side." If they had to renegotiate T and C's with the players agent and did not submit a deal sheet up to two hours before the window closes there is no extension.

Spot on Yatton. The old adage something is only worth what someone will pay. Just a thought, perhaps there was a "dawn of realisation" that no one else was interested at 800k so we dragged our heels ? Personally I think 500k is closer to a realistic valuation of a player 29 years of age, further, if no one is interested at 800k its unlikely anyone will be in January when he is 6 months older. There were three parties involved in this, Peterborough, Player/Agent and Gas , i would suggest any blame lies somewhere in the middle of all three . But someone was interested at 800k. Bristol Rovers. We were given permission to speak to the player by Peterborough at 5:30pm and then agreed a deal around 9pm. TWO HOURS to complete the deal. Despite the Peterborough United Head of Football Operations Liz Elsom helpfully doing some of the paperwork at their end to speed things up and reminding us to request the 15 minute deadline extension, we somehow inexplicably missed the deadline by "seconds". This failure is totally on Bristol Rovers. If we didn't get cold feet about paying the fee and it did transpire how has now been reported, then that is one serious fu£k up. Pretty much my point, when it came to the eleventh hour were we interested at 800k ? Also my understanding(and i stand to be corrected) clubs are unable to request a 15min extension . They do however get a 15 minute warning at 10;45 with the option to submit paperwork not yet complete which allows them 15 mins to complete ? Its the only explanation I can think of why we would of missed a deadline by seconds unless we got cold feet.

He let it go to the wire as he got what he wanted as Wael caved in and just accepted his valuation?Even on the deadline we were still only offering £500K(?) at one point. Clearly he didn't appreciate that we could mess up simply completing the registration forms. He got nothing Topper . Spot on Yatton. The old adage something is only worth what someone will pay. It’s a good question, why do you think they didn’t ? Don't know. It's very strange. Possibly because they might get him half price in January , (tongue in cheek cynicism )

Peterborough owner is a pundit on talksport today with white and Jordan. Did I hear right, he said they aim to have a squad with an age of 25 or below and there are a few above that age that they are looking to move on ?
